Directions
Choose a leader to begin. The leader will be "Donkey Hodie." The leader should stand about six feet in front of the other players.

Have the leader give the players a prompt starting with "Donkey Hodie Says." For example, they can make up instructions such as, "hoof dance like Grampy Hodie," "flap like Duck Duck," "bounce like Bob Dog," "shout hey-o like Purple Panda," etc.
If the leader says "Donkey Hodie Says" before the action, then the players have to do the action. If the leader does not say "Donkey Hodie Says" before the action, then the players have to remain still and do nothing.

Start with a few practice rounds. Once everyone understands the rules, start an official round of the game. Anyone who performs the action without the leader saying "Donkey Hodie Says" is out of this round of the game.

Continue to play until only one player remains. That player is the winner. The winner can now be Donkey Hodie in the next round, and the game begins again. If a child wins a game a second time, you might suggest that they select a child who hasn’t had a turn yet to lead the game.

We hope you had fun together! Snap a photo of you and your child doing the activity and share it with us on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. We’d love to see how it turned out!
