As federal prosecutors presented their case against the Hayats, they introduced into evidence a scrapbook found in the converted garage behind the Hayats' home. Hamid's name was written across the cover; inside were pages of clippings from Pakistani newspapers which praised the Taliban and anti-Shi'a violence and which, according to Scott, "espoused a very violent version of Islam and Jihad."
