I was thinking, PBS does a good job, not only in the states, but by other distributors RHINO, KOCH etc. the world can learn from this timelines in MUSIC pioneers,
I Have "The Languiage Of Music" about TOM DOWD, "THE FUNK BRÖTHERS" the Story Behind The Old Men wich played ever behind the MOTOWN greatest artists. LES PAUL, and AMET ERTEGUN, a pity there is nothing made of the GREAT > ARIF MARDIN, (Atlantic, BeeGees, Bette Midler, Aretha Franklin.......) Harry aka SOULMAN

Well, I'm from theNetherlands, and as early at the age of 10, thiskind of music was also my addiction ;-)
I've been lucky some power drove me to this direction,
and interested and curious as I was, I wanted then to know everything about it, and now I'm 63 and I know every detail of the Rhytm & Blues and SOUL story and their pioneers (including Tom Dowd and LesPaul)

I just saw the documentary about Ahmet and Atlantic Records. Brought back so many memories. Great music and very imaginative creative business management, something lacking in most businesses today.

Thanks for making this type of TV available.

Hello:

I knew of Atlantic Records, of course, from working in a library Music Department for years. I love music very much, and became more familiar with Ahmet in reading about the dynamic Bobby Darin, and the early association that helped Darin get his real start, which led to Darin's further success in becoming the musical icon in this and other genres. Darin admired and emulated Ray Charles, and this seemed the right place to plant roots for Darin's early music, and Ahmet gave him that chance, as well as other unique artists he believed in. An interesting story about an individual who was not only a businessman in a competitive field, but who was a loyal friend to many and stood by the industry and business he created. What a pity there are not more around like Ahmet and Bobby Darin; true originals. By the way, American Masters, which I've watched for years due to the show's high quality of treatment of its subjects; very informative and entertaining, would add a most enigmatic subject into doing the life of Bobby Darin.

Thank you,
Mrs. Robin Fern Adelman
