
Becky Magura
President and CEO | Nashville PBS
Becky Magura serves as President and CEO of Nashville PBS, a role she has held since 2021. A veteran of public media with more than 40 yearas of experience, Magura is recognized across the PBS system for her leadership in strategic planning, station advancement, community engagement, and multiplatform content development.
A native Tennessean, Magura began her career in 1982 at WCTE CentralTN PBS in Cookeville, Tenn., where she held roles ranging from producer and on-air talentto President and CEO. Under her leadership at WCTE and now Nashville PBS, she has demonstrated a commitment to educational media, collaborative production, and innovation in both local and national programming.
At NashvillePBS, Magura has led major initiatives including the launch of two new 24/7 broadcast channels, the debut of original regional series, and a station-wide strategic plan. In 2024, she oversawa full brand transition to Nashville PBS, along with a campus modernization, an OTT channel partnership with Sinclair, and the 2025 launch of a 24/7ALL ARTS digital channel in partnership with WNET.
Her serviceto public media includes nationalboard roles with PBS, the Association for Public Television Stations (APTS), American Public Television (APT), the National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA), the Major Market Group (MMG) and Public Media Women in Leadership (PMWL). She has also chaired the PBS Interconnection Committee and serves as chair of the Tennessee Public Television Council.
Magura has been recognized with multiple Nashville/Midsouth Regional Emmy Awards,the Tennessee Governor’s Awardfor Excellence in Early Foundations, and the inaugural Patrick Butler National AdvocacyAward in 2025 for her work buildingstate and federalsupport for public media. She is a graduateof the Public Media Diversity Leaders Initiative and a fellowin the 2025 Editorial Integrity and Leadership Initiative developed by the Poynter Institute.
She is among the 2025 classof inductees into the NATAS Nashville/Midsouth Chapter’sSilver Circle in recognition of her decades of service to television.
