Luis Patiño

President & CEO | Austin PBS

 

Luis Patiño is the Chief Executive Officer of Austin PBS, the only locally owned and operated nonprofit public television station in Central Texas. In his role, Patiño oversees all station operations and drives the strategic direction of this mission focused public media organization. With over 25 years of commercial media experience, his leadership and expertise includes TV and Radio station management, digital product development, news and journalism production, events and experiential marketing, consumer insights and community impact.

Patiño most recently served as President and General Manager of Univision Media Group in Los Angeles, where he led the day-to-day management of station operations, ad sales, news, marketing, production and promotions for the leading Spanish-language television and radio group. Prior to moving to California, Patiño served as the Vice President and General Manager of Univision in both Austin and San Antonio. Recognized for his mission-focused leadership and passion for the community, he has served on several boards including the Long Center for the Performing Arts, the Mexic-Arte Museum, the Lozano Long Institute of Latin American Studies at UT (LLILAS), HAAM (Health Alliance for Austin Musicians) and more. Patiño also served on the Austin PBS board between 2013 and 2015. across platforms, and a lifelong dedication to the values that define public broadcasting.
