"Anti-racist education is not only important, but essential"

Anisa O. From the American Portrait documentary series shares her story as an organizer striving for anti-racist reform in schools. She joins organizers across the country working for change.

In “I Rise”, the fourth episode of the American Portrait documentary series, Anisa works to organize students, alumni, and community members to remove police from three schools in the Mankato Public School District. Across the country, others are forming clubs, holding protests, and creating petitions to implement changes to make their schools more just and equitable for all students.
