What gets me out of bed in the morning is my kids...and no, it's not because they are young and demanding my attention, which they did many years ago. Those days are long gone, my children no longer live with me - they are young adults with lives of their own. But every morning I get up thinking about them and go to work on their right to have a safer, more hopeful tomorrow and today. You see, I get to work on our climate crisis. And yes, that is big, scary and sometimes depressing, but more often than not, it's exciting, empowering and hopeful too. I work with amazing people, young and old, who believe as I do that with hard work we can slow down our climate emergency and give all our children a chance for a better today and a more hopeful tomorrow. That gets me out of bed every single morning.
