A day's work is joyful, because I choose to make it so. One of the things that is lacking a lot in our children is joy. They know how to be happy: they got a new iPhone, they passed a test, their mother gave them permission to go to the movies. But they don’t know joy. I hope that I can show and teach them joy. My students see me struggle with what MS has done to my body, but through all the pain that they can see in my face, they never see me depressed or sad about it. I can always find a way to laugh, and I hope that I can show them that they can choose joy too.
