My American dream…
My American dream "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." These words were first spoken by Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. in 1963. 57 years later, his words live on. My American dream is for people who look like me to not have to fear for their lives during encounters with police. In my American dream, there is no persecution against people who love differently than others. In my American dream, folks of all genders, sexualities, religions, colors, and upbringings can live life in peace. Our founding fathers promised that "all men are created equal"– America can never truly be free and American dreams can never truly come true until we all believe and live by this statement.
