My Saturday night looks like neighbors coming out of their homes from doorways to friendships. Our story started just after the pandemic hit the U.S. in March, 2020. I was in my backyard doing spring clean up, heard neighbors on both sides doing the same. I shouted across the fence, "do you want to meet in my drive way at 5:30 for a drink and social hour"? I heard two yes's from both sides! They in turn invited their neighbors, and our neighborhood opened up that night with 10 people, socially distanced, and some had never met before. These were not 'new' neighbors, but people who work, pull in their garages, close the door, and go about their lives. The pandemic has brought our neighbors outside, and we look forward to every single Saturday night social hour. We have paused until spring, but we will be back!
