My parent(s) wanted me to…
My parent(s) wanted me to become a teacher or nurse. To have a steady paycheck and good health benefits, a retirement package . I wanted to be an artist. My parents said that if I did not double major, they would not baby sit for me. I needed their help. I double majored while commuting. The stress was great. But here I am, retired public art educator, I hold an MFA, and I am making my dream happen in spite of 28 years and incredible road blocks.
