To me, work means loving what you do so you never actually "work" a day in your life. Life as a woman in science definitely isn't easy and it does take work, but I can't see myself doing anything other than being a marine biologist. I absolutely love my job working for Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) in the gorgeous Florida Keys. I am the Coordinator for the Coral Rescue Project, where the goal is to "save" stony corals from an unknown disease that has ravaged the coral populations in Florida and now the Caribbean. We are partnering with zoos and aquariums across the nation to house corals, and learn more about their husbandry and reproduction. One day we will return these corals to Florida's coral reefs. I am thankful everyday to be working on this amazing and important project.
