The tradition I carry on is the Christian tradition of caring for the earth and fighting for justice. God has asked us to be good stewards of His earth and somehow we have forgotten that. Seeing the destruction of our earth has moved my heart to action and so I go to churches to help remind them of our shared faith tradition of ensuring that the earth is flourishing. Our faith tradition also calls us to care for the most vulnerable around the earth and here at home. The impoverished are affected the most by our climate crisis. Justice is important to me because of what happened to my own family. My mother is Japanese and her parents were sent to the internment camps simply because of their race. It was a grave injustice. So I carry on the tradition of love for earth and the people upon it.
