A day’s work is ...fighting the Covid-19 crisis as an ER Physician in Lake Charles, Louisiana. My name is Dr. Syed Amir Shah, and I am a healthcare worker, as well as an amateur watercolor artist and thought I would send in my painting. I think of my art as therapy and in this moment I painted this picture to represent all the incredibly brave and committed healthcare professionals such as the EMTs, first responders, nurses, doctors and the housekeeping staff I work with. This virus is invisible and is portrayed in the background of the painting, as to not to overwhelm the amazing efforts being put forth by all of us to fight it. Being on the front lines, I appreciate PBS sharing our stories and portraits of Americans coming together to support one another. Thank you!
