"Mountaineer"(1995) is a West Virginia cult classic. This doc takes a fun but deep dive into the true culture of our state and explores the "Hillbilly" stereotypes. Poet Irene McKinney, Historian John Williams, Writers Pinckney Benedict & Denise Giardina, are a few of the many thoughtful WV interviews intercut with a large collection of 1920s-90s film/TV exploiting the "Hillbilly" stereotypes.
