Smith Mountain Lake: Generating Power, Creating Memories

Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia has 500 miles of shoreline. Built in the 1960s, the lake provides recreation and a home to many but its main purpose remains the same – to generate electricity. The program explores the lake’s history and the communities that were flooded. Included are first-hand accounts from those who built the lake, plus archival photos and footage of the lake through the years.
