Activists hope to curb the shame women who have had an abortion are made to feel.

Pro-choice activists say its time to change the culture of shaming women who have had an abortion. The "1 in 3 Campaign" is named after the claim that one of every three women has had an abortion. It encourages women to share their personal stories related to abortion in an effort to create a more accepting society.
