Governor Ducey recently appointed former U.S. Surgeon General Richard Carmona as a Senior Public Health Advisor to assist the State Health Department with the COVID pandemic. Arizona municipalities are facing a shortage of police officers, with the City of Phoenix short by as many as 1,000 officers. The FBI reports that hate crimes in Arizona are at their highest levels in nearly two decades.
