A new report by the Arizona Community Action Association and the Coalition on Human Needs finds that poverty is down from 17.4% in 2016 to 16.4% last year in Arizona, still above the national average of 14% and higher than it was before the Great Recession. In November 2016, Arizona voters approved a minimum wage increase that would eventually see workers making $12 an hour in 2020.
