Like, this is that?
1:11 Juice Bar is a black-owned juice bar here in Pittsburgh.
We are in Hazel, the neighborhood of Hazelwood.
We started in 2022.
Weve been around for, like, four years.
And we are continuing to grow and innovate in the industry.
First off, there's no sugar added in our juices, no water added.
So it is the whole fruit and vegetables.
It's a whole foods.
Every bottle of juice has a pound of produce or more to make that one bottle.
Yeah.
So when you consume one of those bottles, you've got a whole pound of produce in your system.
So everything has to be timed very precisely because you're dealing with raw inputs and you're dealing with raw outputs.
And so your shelf life on anything that you have in this facility is not very long.
So what we do is we plan all of our days and we plan all of our events.
It really is the guidepost of how we plan production and how we move volume and how we get it all distributed, because then you also have to get everything out when it's fresh and so people can enjoy it at home for a few days.
So what we're going to do is were going to try some juices I actually want to try.
Im gonna let you choose.
Yes.
So I do I yeah, I think we should have you try like our top five or top top sellers.
Okay, so Dragonfruit Lemonade is number one.
The nifty blue is number two.
The liquid gold is like a beautiful combination of ginger and turmeric.
So it's like it's it really tastes like, so good.
And then we'll throw another one in there.
Whatever.
Whatever you feel like.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Right.
So let's do it.
Let's do it.
So we are going to start with the Dragonfruit Lemonade dragonfruit blueberry, raspberry, blackberry, lemon and apple.
Wow.
No sugar.
No sugar and no sugar.
Local apples.
So here we have the Nipsey Blue pineapple.
Apple.
Lemon lime.
What makes it blue is spirulina.
You know, that is.
No.
Okay.
So spirulina is actually an algae grows on top of ponds.
They scoop it off, dry it at a low temperature.
It is the most nutritious food on the planet.
This tastes like, like blueberry.
And, lemon water ice.
Right?
Yeah.
Its lemon water ice.
This is.
It's like a sweet-tart finish.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So on this one, it's orange pineapple, golden beets, apple and lemon.
Okay, have you ever had a golden beet?
Never had a golden beet.
It's at yellow beet.
It does the same thing, but it's like it does the same thing a red beet does.
It just has a little more antioxidants than a regular one.
Let's just try it.
All right, let's take a look.
All right.
That's really good.
Oh.
Oh, that's really good.
Yeah.
And this one has got beets in it?
Yes.
Absolutely.
That's a good amount too.
Oh you guys arent playing then.
We want really good.
I feel like.
Yeah.
That's the way we formulate it.
We take it honestly.
These recipes take us a long time.
It's not like we're just like, oh, we hope this goes, you know.
No, no, we have, like, a formula that we follow, number one.
And then we kind of go in and change, like, all right, just what do we want to stick out.
What do we want the last flavor to be.
What is it?
You know, and if our own children don't like it.
That's not good.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
They taste all of our juices.
Yeah, absolutely.
Ginger, beets, It doesn't matter.
And then.
And they give us their honest opinion.
Yeah.
These taste really really good.
We appreciate it.

It really does taste like.

Its like what do you mean water ice?
Its Italian ice you know?
No, these are really, really good.
I've never had juice taste that good.
And they were really healthy.
They were very good for you.
Everything is good for you.
Wow.
We had other opportunities to go other places, but Hazelwood felt better to me and to our ownership as a diverse ownership of immigrants and of black people, to be in a neighborhood that more reflects who we are.
I think that Hazelwood is an up and coming neighborhood.
We have to come in and bring commerce to the neighborhood and bring opportunity.
And I think that we have done a good job of doing that by hiring from people in the neighborhood and just being here and making sure we tell people, hey, come to Hazelwood, come to Hazelwood.
You know, I think that sometimes neighborhoods can be left behind.
And then when they're found again, everyone can be, you know, evacuated per se.
And I think that we are, in the business of being rooted and seeing the community grow in a healthy and whole way.
One, we bring jobs to the community.
Our juice processing is a manual, very manual process.
So it gives us the opportunity to provide jobs to people who may not be able to find jobs in other ways.
So that's really, really nice.
To see different people from different walks of life come in and be able to create juice and create a product that they're really proud of.
We have a program that helps with postpartum.
So yes, absolutely.
Women who have had children or even have lost their children.
We offer a postpartum pack, a four pack of juice to help them revitalize their nutrients.
I think that's been huge.
We do giveaway juice to the kids in the neighborhood.
Yeah.
Yeah we do.
We do.
So that's really fun because we think it's important that they have this thing in their neighborhood and that they know what it is, and they get to try it.
We do juice workshops so kids can come in and learn how to juice and and do things like that.
For Black History Month.
Yeah.
You just say you have some Black History Month bottles.
Yes.
They highlight people in Pittsburgh, right?
Yes.
So this for Black History Month, this year we decided to do something really special.
We got together and spent a lot of time on choosing the right figures for this project.
We wanted it to be local, but we also wanted people who were local that have overcome something and has changed the nation.
They may not be names that everyone knows, but they did significant work to open up the doors for not just black people, but people in general.
So they're only here for February and are limited edition.
So you got to come get one, you know, and save them, you know, because they're they're just beautiful.
They're honestly very beautiful.
