A 14-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with murder in the fatal shooting in Newark on Friday of Detective Joseph Azcona. The teen is also facing charges of attempted murder and illegal weapon possession. The 26-year-old officer was a five-year veteran and part of a special intelligence unit in the Newark Police Department investigating a group suspected of possessing illegal weapons.

Newark's mayor Tas Baraka this weekend pointed to the danger officer's face every day on the job adding that Azcona knew there was danger where he was heading but went anyway [Music]
