It's the two a state title game between the Woodlawn Bears and the South Side Bee branch.
Hornets over 1.
Welcome to Everett Field in Benton, AR.
Mar Jayhawk along with Bobby Swofford for this 28 title game and Bobby.
You know you always talk about the seven eight games and six eight games you hear about all these kids going Division One at the two, any level they've got.
All that more because they've got some power.
They've got speed and this is gonna be a fun game.
And they clearly left an email for all the residents.
The last one out of town.
Turn out the lights 'cause this place is packed today.
You're talking bout two premier small school baseball programs who expect to get to a championship game.
And today they are both expecting to win a title.
Well, the history behind the Woodlawn Bears is.
I mean, if you know anything about high school baseball in the state of Arkansas, you know about the Woodlawn Bears.
This is a team.
That has been good for a really, really long time.
Yeah with Coach, would Tommy Richardson is done with this program.
10 state Finals appearances, including Today six state championships.
Handful in just the last couple of years.
They are loaded 32 and three on the season.
Will talk about the specific numbers when they coming up in just a few minutes, but talk about a program that he built and he got to the top of small school baseball.
That's the pinnacle.
As for Southside Bee Branch, the Hornets are 27 and 9 this year.
Gus Hall is going to be on the mound.
He's a 7 and he's got something to record with a 2.41 ERA.
100 strikeouts this year for Gus Holland and he's only walked.
26 battery.
Yeah, he's got command of four pitches in his coach Jeff religion.
He said he likes to implement four, including a knuckleball and also a changeup that we should expect to see today.
Especially low in a way to right hand hitters.
By the way, he's done all that work in 52 innings, so ought to be a good one here in Benton as its Woodlawn.
Taking on the Southside branch Corners looks Quinn give you the battery today for the Southside People, Hornets.
As behind the plate, you've got wet.
Holland Gay Johnsons at first base, third base has drew rains.
Eastern swapper, no relation to Bobby Swofford.
Is that short with Ryan match it is over at second in the outfield Parker Hutchens and left Connor, Bison Centerin.
Baylor Hall is in right field.
Your first batter for the Woodlawn Bears is kill Edmonds, who is going to be the picture today for the Woodlawn Bears who come in 32 and three and the first pictures were called strike on that inside half the plate.
He's going to pound the strike son.
You mention averaging almost 2 strikeouts.
Per inning this season, Gus Holland going to pound his own.
No one is up high, even to count 1-1.
The 123 lineup for the Woodlawn Bears has kill Edmonds as Ethan Gardner and Jayden Manus.
One thing we're going to hear a lot is production numbers from Woodlawn.
You've got five or six guys in the lineup with at least 25 RBI's including the nine hole hitter so they can swing it one through 9 and that's essentially why they've got a 32 and three record and applying for a title here today 1/2 The count 317 batting average for Edmonds.
Who's had four home runs this year?
He's only struck out 15 times.
Here's the pitch.
It's a chopper over the mound to play it short though.
Get it and they say came off.
That was a tough play right there.
Southside be branches Gage Johnson as it pulled him off the bag to throw did and his back foot came off the backside of the front side of bag.
Yeah, they're going to rule that an infield hit would have been a tough play, but you can see the throw pulls him off the bag just to touch not able to get back and get a toll on the bag and so he's ruled safe with an infield single.
So now that brings up Ethan Gardner, who is the center fielder today for Woodlawn.
He's batting 290 with 25 RBI.
Works in that left handed batters box with a runner on.
Pictures up high and outside pics counter.
Wanna know?
As we talked about for Southside Bee Branch, the Battery today is Gus Holland and with Hollins behind the plate Gus.
With a 2.41 ERA's, the second pitch sales outside.
I think the.
Really, Bobby for Gus Holland is just his command throughout the season.
In 52 innings had 100 strikeouts as the two over hitting.
And as soon as I do, it's it's almost the broadcasters curse when you talk about the command he comes in and being somebody, yeah, you could tell he was trying to work that inner part of the plates.
But Ethan Gardner crowding that front of the batters box.
Raise just the front arm in the jersey and gets a free base.
So now that brings up Jane Maness, who were bothered when you look at this.
He's got a 518 batting average, was 63 RBI.
That's that's a big number.
I don't care how many games you've played 63 RBI's in just 35 games.
So he's a a production machine and you could see the top of the line that gets on base for him.
Now it's his job to move him around.
By the way that last hit by pitch for.
Gus Hall, and that's only his seventh hit by pitch all season long.
Again, no matter where you play in the state, title game is always going to bring a little nerves.
You gotta try to settle in.
If you're Gus Hall and try to give yourself a ground ball in your defense to turn to for you.
OK man, is that the plate?
He's only struck out four times all year.
So on it fell back.
You know, we've seen a lot of.
Seen a lot of players come through the state tournaments.
These state championship games.
But when you just look at the overall numbers of Manus, four home runs, three triples, twelve doubles, and only I think the most outside of everything else.
The most impressive thing is he's only struck out four times all year.
Yeah, for someone who's got the production that he does, the four home runs.
The 60 three RBI's thinking for those are, you know, heavy swing and miss guys.
But he's he's certainly puts it in play and that's why he's in the heart of the lineup.
Pic move there behind the runner at first in Holland, but nothing doing.
Got overcast guys today.
Here in Benton is had some rain moved through yesterday.
I think there's a slight chance of rain here in the early morning hours, but.
Hopefully all that stays out of here.
Here's the old one.
Outback counseling too.
And one thing that allows.
Woodlawn, some little variety is as much as he makes contact.
You mentioned with four strikeouts.
While the opportunities to to run the hit and run to put players in motion is you know that he's going to put the ball in play and not really run yourself into easy outs.
Otuz account with runners at 1st and 2nd.
Does Holland eyes the second base bag?
There's a pinch, her false one, and found back 3 pitches in this advance.
He fell straight back so you can tell he's recognizing the ball out of Holland's hands.
Gauging the speed he's right on, it just hasn't been able to square it up.
And really, Bobby, you mentioned in the pregame the bag of tricks that Holland has for this ball game.
I mean.
He's got a knuckleball gotta change up got a fastball.
So too long on it pops straight up.
Gonna go out of play.
Going to.
Woodlawn fans went scrambling after that one.
Take one off the head.
They packed house row in front of the bleachers were full with lawn chairs.
Down both lines.
Standing room only.
Odus account.
As Manis is battling here, after four straight foul balls are on, make it five straight foul balls.
Making Holland work.
Already 12 pitches to the first three batters.
Hasn't recorded an out.
We saw it last night.
110 pitches is the maximum the pitcher can throw.
State mandated pitch count.
O2 on the way.
Sale high came with a changeup at 60 miles 69 miles an hour, and it's one and two.
I like the idea.
Obviously that was well out of zone, but try to make manage chase something 'cause he's been right on top of your fastball.
1/2 throw down to 3rd and then it should be.
It's safe.
He slipped past the bag and that's one thing that we talked about with the turf here bet and it really took anywhere.
If you're not used to playing on it and you go in head first slide like this, he just went right past it.
You've got to start your slide a whole lot sooner and able to just get back before the tag of drew rains there at third base.
But now two in scoring position for Manus.
No chance to add to that already.
Impressive RBI total of 63 on the season.
So man's at the plate has runners in scoring position 22 swung on ripped down the left field sign found.
We put a charge into that.
When he did, he's on top of everything Holland stolen.
Adding he's able to fall off pitch after pitch.
A really good at bat from the slugger of your lineup.
Ninth pitch of the event coming up.
Balls, two strikes.
There's a change up outside and take it full.
Runners get their leaves, and Hollands got the pitch.
Here it is.
What on it miss?
Great job by Holland.
Tough to battle back and get that punch out.
Only the fifth time this year, he is struck out.
And Gus Holland takes him down.
It's the first out here in the first inning.
I'm really, really big out, but nowhere near out of the jam is Southside be Branch Jackson case three 8640 three RBI's team High 16 extra base hits.
Jackson case steps into that left handed batters box with runners at 2nd and 3rd.
That's a good flow.
Been about the hair this week has been is it because that you've got male pattern balding going on?
No, I have strategically placed highlights.
OK, I didn't know they called Grace but.
Going bald yet.
Here's the first pitch to him.
It's one slap the right field that's going to get out of first runs their store, and we're going to actually send two now.
And two words coming in after that.
Bloop single out to right field at Woodlawn's.
Got a two to nothing lead.
Woodlawn was gonna hold the runner Gardner at 3rd.
But as the relay throw in from the outfield came in, a little lackadaisical to the second baseman that was still well beyond the brown turf or the dirt's.
If you want to call it that here on the altar field, they went ahead and sent the runner and scored easily with no throw.
That is the 45th RBI for Jackson case this year.
So little bleeder in the right field.
It's the job done.
So now Garrett cowards at the plate.
He's the catcher today for.
Woodlawn and he bats 298.
First pitch is inside.
He also has 37 RBI's on the season.
So again this production.
Up and down the lineup.
Not a single player in the starting nine for Woodlawn at has less than 15 RBI's this year one is on the way.
Swan, Ms. 11 call the strike hits one and two.
Holland did nice job spotting that fastball.
Going down at the knees doesn't have high end velocity that one at 77.
But grab Greg Maddox taught us that it's not about velocity, sometimes about placement through.
Here is the 1/2 runner goes swung on left in the center field.
That'll get down for a base hit.
Rounding second here comes to throw.
They slide and he's in safely.
As now, they're going to have runners at second and third, they saw the throat go to 3rd, and boy, you wanna talk about the aggressiveness of Woodlawn?
Right now they're they're looking for.
Two extra bags every time the balls in play.
That's a really heads up baserunning move by Coward gets the single to center the throw comes in the third.
He was a little late breaking for the second base bag, but goes to go ahead and take the extra base and now two more in scoring position.
For the Bears, but there's a reason why the Bears are 32 and three on the year.
Just the aggression will take away the batting averages and all the stats, just the aggression alone with his team is had and they've shown so far here in the first inning.
Just goes to show why they've been a threat to a baseball.
Brayden Jones, the courtesy runner, out at second base, the high school level.
You can get a free runner for both your picture and your catcher, so count does stay in the game, but.
Jones is going to be a courtesy runner first pitch to graces inside and it's wanna know.
Now, if your hole and you've got to find a way to to keep this deficit in just two, it's the first thing.
There's a lot of baseball to be played, but you don't want to see the Bears put up a big number in the first inning.
One is on the way fastball misses inside.
It's too, no.
So far Woodlawn scored two runs on three hits.
I've got runners at 2nd and 3rd.
Fastball Mrs Hines three no.
Katie Grace 316.
Thirty four RBI's was shown a little patience here.
Alan Thomas strike.
Here's a three oh pitch fastball right down Broadway in three one.
Now he's going to be sitting dead red here.
First base is open.
So Holland doesn't necessarily have to give in, but if you're.
JT Grace, you're swinging for the fences.
Here's the three one swung on and missed.
It could cheated on that cut good rip.
Now you gotta shorten up.
Just put the ball in play.
Try to get a flyball to the outfield, and get that runner home from third.
Who's ready to watch that one fly?
Yeah.
3 balls, two strikes.
Pitches in there called strike three.
He thought he walked.
Are a part of a David Coleman said otherwise.
Pump down right across the inside portion of the plate.
And gets the call in a big second out.
Our officials today, David Coleman's behind the plate, Jason Long and John Hannon around the field, now in Stoper the sophomore comes to the plate with two outs.
Here in the top of the first inning.
First pitch is Swan and miss.
I think we're seeing Holland start to get a little confidence now.
May work it with a little faster pace, even though there's runners on base.
So they're playing catch with his catcher with Holland.
01 swung on lifted into shallow centerfield.
Center fielder biases right there to make the catch and get Southside out of the inning, but not until Woodlawn scores two runs on three hits.
They strand two.
We head to the bottom of the first inning.
And you're watching the Centennial Bank State Baseball championships in Arkansas.

It's easy so you should do it a lot.
Use the hashtag.
AARP esports lot of folks have been using that hashtag over.
Well, of course of the softball and baseball games yesterday and had a good win last night.
Between Rogers and Springdale harber.
In fact, a play at the plate to end the game, and people were using the hashtag talking about that.
That game last night.
You're not going to find a more exciting ending.
Then we saw it to the six, a title game last night.
It's 3 nothing going to the top of the Seventh harbor loads the bases with nobody out gets two runs across with a fly ball to left for the second out of the inning and they got him down at the plate to end the game.
And when Rodgers first ever state championship.
Well, so Cole Edmonds is going to make his debut in the state championship game as.
He's out there warming up.
He'll face Connor buys Gus Holland and Easton Swafford the 123 hitters for Southside be branches we talked about come in 27 and 9 on the year they won two state championships.
They've been in this game six times all since 2005.
If you like to follow trends.
What do we do to win a title they won in 2007, one in 2014?
21 would continue that trend of every seven years Connor buys.
Now at the plate he's a 504 hitter this year with 28 RBI and five home runs as the first pitch is in there called a strike.
And once again, he's a very low strikeout guy.
Baisses only struck out four times this year.
Put the ball in play.
That's exactly what you want from your leadoff man, and he starts off single right back up the middle.
Bobby, I think you're going to see a lot of production out of both these lineups.
Today we saw how hot aggressive Woodlawn was to start the game, but the lineup is equally as good for Southside Branch.
Yeah, you're talking about two teams have played a lot of games, both of them played North of 3035 contest this year.
They've honed their craft.
They know what they're looking for.
They know what to expect from the other squad.
One of the better ball games of the weekend.
Here's Gus Holland as he takes a fastball outside at 81 miles an hour.
Well, pitches on the way they show button trying to get it down the third baseline, but it goes found.
I like what Holland did there right before the delivery started for Kled and see kind of peek down to third base to see where that third baseman was playing solid.
He was well behind the bag.
He trusted drop down a bunt and get a cheap infield single, but it just goes foul.
SO11's account is where in the bottom of the first inning Woodlawn leads it two to nothing.
Top of the plate curveball catches the outside corners 1/2.
He is on.
The front line have a batter's box.
1/2 pitch outside 22.
Here's the pitch curveball.
Swing on lifting the left coming in to make the play is the left fielder wrote.
Add going back he he overran it and it's a double play.
Connor buys, didn't pick up the ball off the back and already rounded second base on the hit and run and he is gunned down on the relay throw in a great job by the Woodlawn defense to turn to.
Yeah.
Vice never saw he was already running.
They thought the ball may get down great play by road and then a long throw hit the relay and you get the double play.
Great execution there on your 943 double play.
First, pitch to eastern Swappers called a strike and now quickly he's at the plate with two outs here in the first inning, Swafford committed to play at Arkansas Big Numbers.
Four 2245 RBI's nine homers.
He pops it up the left field.
It's in shallow left.
Here's wrote many makes a catch in just like that 123 Go South Side, Beaver and Hornets.
So after one inning Woodlawn leaves it two to nothing and you're watching the Centennial Bank State Baseball championships in Arkansas.

Well, we had to stop the second inning.
It's two to nothing between Woodlawn and South Side or Jayhawk with Bobby Swofford here.
For all these state championship action this year and.
No, for the Woodlawn bears Bobby you look at their state tournament.
They beat Yellville summit Tenda nothing, a beat Buffalo Island Central 12 to nothing and then they beat McCrory 8 to 4.
This is James, but put up some runoff score.
Some runs and the trends already continued here today.
Two in the top of the first.
First banner for Woodlawn is going to be breaking Stevens as there will be a strike to start him off with.
Here's the 01 swing on a miss.
02 Holland hasn't backed down from his approach.
He's going to continue to pound the strike zone.
Make Woodlawn continue to put solid swings on.
And there it is.
First strike out, working a little bit better for.
Gus Holland for Southside Bee Branch and there's no.
One out now here in the top of the second is pretty simple.
Good morning, good afternoon, good night.
3 strikeouts, 3 pitches, 3 strikeouts.
On the game I should say.
Darling.
Here's the pitch to Wroten as it's a ball, a pie, Parker wrote, and is.
The 9 hole hitter playing left field today, batting 291 with 27 RBI.
Here's the 10.
Fastball called a strike outside corner.
Parker wrote, and a junior for this Woodlawn team.
One one is not speed pitch up high.
With two balls, one strike with one out here in the top of the second inning.
Gus Holland leg kick in the pitch.
It's away from Whit Holland, and makes the Count 3-1.
3 balls one strike.
Top of the second inning 2 nothing.
Woodlawn top of Southside.
Here's the three one.
It's the outside corner called Strike.
That's the second time in this ball game Bobby that outside corners been called an batters.
Didn't think it was a strike, but the Empire sure did.
Yeah, Wroten was halfway to first base and had to put on the brakes and head back for this full count pitch.
3 balls, two strikes.
Here it is.
Swan and Miss got it.
It's always tough.
We kind of have it in your mind that you drew a walk.
Then you gotta come back.
He called back to the box.
He goes down swinging 4 strikeouts now for Gus Hall and back to back in this sitting.
And now it goes back to the top to line up with kill Edmonds, Edmonds back in the first inning.
Got things going with a single.
First pitch to him.
Swung on and missed.
Bobby looks as if Gus Highlands kind of got the jitters out.
He's getting in a groove, yeah, starting to loosen up a little bit too.
That went up to 80 mph.
The hardest thrown up to this point.
When you start to settle in nicely.
Phone on it messed it up too.
Yeah, I want to rain after 81, so he's feeling pretty good.
One more pitch like that and get his team back in the dugout.
Otuz account here it is.
Swan and missed came with three fastballs at time.
Inside inside came back outside, and that's going to do it for the second inning.
All three strikeouts.
We head to the bottom of the second Woodlawn to Southside.
Nothing you're watching.

So Woodlawn comes back on the field.
As they start the bottom of the second inning up for Southside Bee Branch, be Gage Johnson with Holland and drew rains the 456 hitters.
Gage Johnson, the first baseman batting 388 with 36 RBI and six home runs.
So far this season.
And he will get his shot at Cole Edmonds, the Woodlawn Pitcher, who in the first inning?
Recorded 2 strikeouts.
Judy no.
Report to fly out.
Here's Johnson swings at a curveball and fouls it off.
No one's account.
Pitch on the way, curveball swung on lifting the left.
That's going to fall down, and it'll be a base hit as he was headed to 2nd put on the brakes.
Fell down there trying to get back.
He does take a big turn there able to throw on the brakes.
And justice get back to first good throw mada gunning down the RJ and once again Bobby I.
These guys are not like the first time they've ever played on turf before.
You know I'm saying, yeah, you know, you know what's going to come with the territory and an.
Slipping and sliding out there like they've never been out here before.
So would Holland is a catcher for Southside Bee Branch.
He's up next batting 419 on the year.
Fastball is going to slow.
Move back to first.
He got him.
He's running, they're going back and forth.
They get the tag and he slid past.
I said he got the tank he wasn't paying attention over first base.
Yeah, they missed the tag but.
Like we've seen already happened a couple of times here today over slip the bag and.
That leadoff single to left quickly erased.
Here's the next pitch.
Two with Holland.
Account to know.
Two hours on the way fastball caught the outside corner.
There's two and one.
21 basketball once again catch that outside corner.
It goes to two.
Like the aggressiveness though here of admins, he's not afraid.
He know, gave up a leadoff single, he's still.
Coming right at him.
2 twos found out of play.
So far in this game, Edmonds is only thrown 16 pitches.
2 balls, two strikes, curveball swung on chopped, a third.
Coming up, his man as he makes the throw and it's a little high but they get the out.
It's the second one here in the second.
And that will bring to the plate.
Drew reigns for Southside hitting 254 with 26 RBI this year.
First pitch to him.
Ask Ball swung on and missed little by him at 83 miles an hour.
No one's up high.
Swings at its own too.
O2's on the way fastball outside corner?
Three straight strikes he's done.
And that's going to do it for the second inning.
123 Go the Hornets as we head to the top of the third inning Woodlawn to Southside nothing you're watching the Centennial Bank State Baseball championships in Arkansas.

The Arkansas PBS student athlete that is.
And we're going to look at the two a baseball player and that is Eastern Welch from Hampton High School.
Is the pitcher shortstop is a senior with a 4.02 ER, a plane to go to southern Arkansas Magnolia this fall on a football scholarship and major in kinesiology.
So congratulations to Easton Welch who is our student athlete of the year in baseball.
Well, Woodlawn comes back to the plane as they will have their 234 hitters up with Ethan Gardner leading things off.
Here's the first pitch to him, as it's a called strike on that outside corner and Garner was hit by a pitch back in the first inning and later came around to score.
01's on the way.
Jack Swing and it says he went so 2 Holland is really settled in on the mound.
It has an interesting pre pitch routine backs up about 10 feet behind the pitchers mound before each tossed to the plate, but he's starting to deal it right now.
Struck out the side in the second.
Oh twos on the way Swana missed.
Would make that four straight days.
He is rolling right now.
It's four straight 6 total.
That brings up Jayden Manus.
This is it really.
Bobby if you think about it.
Of all these batters, yeah, they've scored two runs cuts got three hits so far, But Man's has really been's toughest opponent at the plate so far.
No, you're exactly right.
Feld off 6 or 7 pitches.
Did eventually go down on strikes, but really made him work.
First pitch to him swung on and fouled back.
No balls, one strike stop the third.
That's a called strike at the maze at 81 miles an hour and so too.
No balls, two strikes were in the top of the third inning.
Does Holland with the sign?
Here's a leg kick in the pitch swung on out to short?
Picked up by Swapper drone over and the second out here in the third.
And that will bring up Jackson case now, who singled to right field back in the first inning?
It was an RBI or two RBI single back.
In the first inning.
Jackson first pitch to him, ask Ball, misses low and away.
The dimensions here at in Benton at the Everett Field down the lines is 320.
Gaps with 355 in straightaway.
Center 375 curveball misses high and in.
His accounts to know Bobby, you know one thing that.
That we saw last night.
You think it the power alleys are really deep.
We saw one clear that 3:55 last night that banged off the production truck in left center.
Holland pumps another one across.
And we've done a lot of wins.
We've got the football stadium behind us and I block any additional wind.
Trees will be on the outfield I think if you get a ball up I think it'll carry yeah for sure.
2 ones on the way.
Called strike on the outside corner, it's 22.
Here's the 221 I missed another strikeout.
For Gus Holland, that's going to do it for the top of the third inning.
We had to the bottom of the Third South side trying to get on the board.
They trailed 2 nothing.

Back here in the bottom of the third inning for Southside Bee Branch, they're going to have their 789 hitters up with Parker Hutchins, Baylor Hall and Ryan Matchett Ann Hutchens on the year is batting 357 with 30 RBI.
Doubles this year will start things off for South Side Bee branch taking on Cole Edmonds branch.
Has had a couple of base runners on the path.
But Cal Edmonds still faced the minimum wanna race by a double play, another one erased.
Trying to swipe a bag.
For the love filter Hutchens stands in.
Fastball this time time.
Talked about it before.
There's a really good crowd on hand is probably one of the largest we've had.
There's a shot.
The gap between short and 3rd and put the other like this one out for an infield base hit.
It's a great play, though.
By Jaden Manus at third.
Knock that one down and attempt to get a throw, but just not enough on it.
As Hutchins legs out, the infield single.
So that brings up Baylor Hall now.
By the way, that's the third base hit for Southside B branch.
Called comes in batting 159.
He's gonna show bunt pulls back, goes back to the right side.
Or pickoff move and it's back safely.
He's got a really good pickoff movie and we've already seen it picked off one player so far.
Try and send it again.
Here's the bun attempt as found it back.
And Baylor hall.
He almost was like trying to get away with that one.
It's a big spot.
We saw a pop up when he came to play just a freshman so young guy.
Big Stage was asked to do a job here lay down a bunt.
Or one's account is about opportunity, is he?
Put it out there and found it off.
Going to.
Learn first base is Hutchens.
Here's the O2 is he?
They will.
Spell out that, but things out, yeah little, say it, hit him in the box and.
That's going to be strike three and can't get the job done.
Strikeout in the box score.
Now Ryan matches up the 9 hole hitter playing second base today.
207 on the year.
Just bounced up and hit him.
First pitch hits the dirt.
Wanna know?
Another freshman is matching second baseman.
We don't know and it's going to hit him anymore, right?
Even as a freshman you you will learn as time goes on to turn into that one, yeah.
I got him on the back arm just to be able take it either way.
Lot of use for Southside Branch so offered the Arkansas commit just to junior.
Catcher Holland softmore Well so now Southside Bee Branch gets back to the top line up with Connor Bice, who got a single to right field back in the first inning.
South side trails by two here in the third inning.
Pickoff move back to 2nd.
I will say this call.
Edmonds has some really good moves to 1st and 2nd does.
One out here in the third inning pitch is a changeup in there called a strike.
Last job to to go off.
Speed there to Buy's.
During this third inning.
Ones on the way change up.
Back up the box.
Step it on 2nd, get over there first thing safe he dropped the ball.
They say dropped the ball and.
So now you've got runners on the corners, but Buice got tripped up and he he looks like he needs a breather.
That was a close play.
If you look back on that replay Bobby that they just showed.
He dropped it, picked it back up, but they were.
It was almost a Bang Bang play.
Now.
Gus Holland has a chance to to help his own cause runners on the corners.
Two outs.
So Holland he flied to left field back in the first inning.
And he's got a chance to.
Put a runner on the board.
And these are little situations RJ that you as a team you need to take advantage of that gave you an extra out by not completing the double play.
Your South Side bee branch.
Find a way to scrape across around here.
First pitch to him curveball in there, called a strike.
The old one.
Alpine outside one in one.
That has seen some wear and tear.
Yeah it has.
It's called finding a weapon that you like and is using it till you wear it out.
364 eighteen extra base hits for hauling this season.
Here's the 11 swung on foul tipped in the glove.
It's 1/2.
This has been the most productive inning as far as getting runners on the basepaths for Southside Bee Branch because in innings one and two they went 123 in order.
Yeah, they've had some baserunners just haven't been able to take advantage of it.
Here's one to a Pi 2 and two.
And now.
Where I had some confusion in the field and.
Got a stolen base out of the deal.
They were sending.
Spies to second base and.
Woodlawn was not having any piece of it 'cause I knew there was Runner 3rd and they didn't want that runner to come in and try to score.
See that a lot more in softball than you do in baseball.
You try to draw the throw down to second, get a cheap run.
As you mentioned Woodlawn not having it concede the base.
Here's the two two curveball.
Swim on into left field.
That'll score one run.
They're gonna try to send him.
Here comes the play at the plate.
They're going to score two runs.
We got a tie ball game.
Rolair Mills it's the catcher from left field and a two RBI single for the picture.
Gus Holland helps himself out and all sudden RJ we are knotted up at 2 apiece.
Great situational hitting that time by Gus Holland as he was able to get.
A base hit right in the gap between.
Shorten 3rd and get two RBI out of the deal.
Now you've got Easton Swafford at the plate.
He flied to left back in the first inning.
Can potentially add to this lead this run.
They're going to put him on intentionally.
As.
Talking with Ghost Jeffrey Ligon earlier this week and he said his star shortstop, future college players had to learn a lot of patience.
'cause he saw that a ton this year over 40 walks drawn this season.
And it's just something that you know he hasn't had to deal with in the past, but just a junior.
He's going to have to learn that teams are going to make everybody else, everybody else beat him, and they're not going to let a team's number.
One player meeting with that.
So now Gage Johnson is is at the plate.
He got a base hit to left back in the second inning.
Johnson's got six home runs this year.
Here's the first pitch to him.
Fastball below the knees.
All the ball.
And when you go back to Eastern Swofford, as we've talked about, he's going to Arkansas.
He's at nine home runs this year with 45 RBI.
So 10 swung on chop the third.
Try to get the tag, but they throw it across.
And that's going to do it.
53 on the put out.
But not till South Side scores two runs in the inning.
They pick up a couple hits, leave a couple batters on the bags and we head to the top of the fourth inning.
We've got a tie ball Game 2/2 and you're watching it all right here on Arkansas PBS sports.

Got things all knotted back up for the Woodlawn Bears and Southside Hornets.
South side took the lead in hits 43 and.
Got a brand new ball game without you, Arkansas.

If you're in your car, want to find out what's going on with the broadcast, get that app.
You can watch their own on the app.
You are a passenger in that car, right?
Well, of course yes yes.
Well, you don't text him drive.
I mean, are you crazy?
There's two things you don't do while driving, texting and eat tacos.
Both dangerous first pitch.
Is.
In there to cowards Anetz wanna know?
Say that random story along time ago my Fort Smith days just got off work and.
I was having some dinner on the way home from work and I made a mess and I got pulled over.
Second, pitches found out of place, so the gentleman police offers some Fort Smith America, says, Sir, we've been drinking is like that was actually trying to eat a Taco.
He's like Sir, don't drive any tacos.
So.
11's account.
Was the Taco good?
I mean, I wore half of it.
That's why I got pulled over.
Inside called a bomb.
You know my wife always when we go on these vacations and stuff she hates stopping.
She wants to just eat the car and drive.
And I said, you know, it's it's almost impossible if you're going to eat like a burger or something with fries or or in my case, I like to get a salad as it goes up.
Top three one, it's really hard to to eat in the car and drive all at the same time.
Yeah it is.
I mean, it's hard enough to drive for a lot of people.
You included.
Here's the three one sales high and going walking.
First walk issued on a day for Holland to see a courtesy runner come in.
So now JT Grace is going to be at the plate.
He struck out back in the first inning.
Again, that's Braden Jones over at first running for the catcher.
Here's the first pitch.
Inside.
This is for a ball.
2 balls, two strikes or see me.
One ball and no strikes.
I was looking at the runs.
Here you go as it's now a strike.
It's one in one.
Two runs for Woodlawn.
Two for Southside.
Woodlawn scored their two runs back in the first inning.
Southside got theirs, lasting in the third.
Pickoff move over to 1st he's back safely easily.
JT grace.
With 34 RBI this year.
11 bounces off the catchers leg and right.
I actually got off his.
Yeah, I think that got.
Bakmi yeah so.
Hit by pitch and you've got runners at 1st and 2nd.
Really settled in nicely in the second third inning.
Sat down six in a row, including eight in a row going back.
To that first inning, but.
Got himself in a little trouble.
Let's go walking to hit batter.
Albun opportunity for Owen Stover.
As a 78 mile an hour fastball came in there that time makes it wanna know?
Hold back the bunt.
Makes it too, no.
No, this is where as a picture it's.
It's difficult in your head so you don't want to give an easy pitch to get down as a bunch, but also you don't want to walk him so you know sometimes you just take the out if they're willing to give it up.
There's a tool.
Curveball in there called strikes of really good pitch.
Their bottom of his own bins it in their clear take all the way from Stover.
2 balls one strike as runners at 1st and 2nd.
It's the dirt.
Makes it three in one.
Flight breeze blowing.
Now here in Benton, as it's going from right to left field.
There's the three one fastball.
Catch that inside corner to make it full.
Big to get a strikeout right here.
All three Woodlawn hits came back in the first inning.
They were threatening here.
Here's the three two curveball swing on and missed got him.
Really big strike out there for Gas Island is now up to six K's on the day.
So now let's set you up to where you could potentially get a double play with runners at 1st and 2nd, but you've got Brayton Stevens at the plate who struck out back in the second inning.
Pitch counts Edit 67 for Holland, so he settled in a little bit, but.
A number is certainly something we need to pay attention to moving forward again.
I can only throw 110.
First pitch to Stevens is in there called a strike at the knees.
Braden Stevenson, 229 but.
Coach Tommy Richardson said that he played really, really well in the state tournament, swinging a hot bat and coming into the state tournament.
Here's the old one, swung on and missed going too.
You know, we've seen.
When just Hollins got in a jam, is you know he's come back with his off speed stuff his curveballs really got him out of a lot of situations.
Here's the 02.
Fastball that time swallowing it missed 78 miles an hour and it's two outs now.
Really big back to back strikeouts.
There for Holland and.
He almost has a different mindset when he gets two runners on and just really settles in, it stops worrying about the baserunners and just focus on playing catch with his brother behind the plate.
8 case now.
Think about the amount of work they get to get in together, and you've got the picture in the catcher that, yeah, go home together thing where they can work around the backyard.
As Parker Rotons at the plate, he struck out back in the second.
First pitch is a called strike outside corner.
Two outs topped the fourth inning.
No ones up top.
Wrote in 27 RBI's in the 9 hole.
So we've talked about it a few times.
They've got production one through nine 291 average.
Football one strike.
Here's the pitch swung on and missed came with.
A fastball at 78.
One and two.
There's a 12 pitch offspeed got him swinging the big breaker.
There he goes from 80 on the fastball to 67 on that breaker and gets the swing and miss strikes out.
Three in a row to get himself out of the jam.
RJ he's striking him out, throwing him out today as we head to the bottom of the fourth inning tie Ball game.
2/2 and you're watching the Centennial Bank State Baseball Championships in Arkansas.
PBS sports.
I'm Logan Duvall and I'm Lauren Mccalla and we are pleased to represent Arkansas PBS as the host of these first installments of the new segment series.
Good roots.
To explore the culture and innovation of small towns across the state of Arkansas turned in for Arkansas, we can find us online.
You know, I think sports are really big to a lot of people, and because it is so important.
Part of our fabric in our community and one good thing about what I've seen is it's high quality production.
You know, you think of the small communities all over Arkansas.
It's a big deal that they can turn on the TV or DVR or whatever, and they're going to quality product.
And so I think it just expands the focus of what PBS is doing in Arkansas.
PBS is doing a great job and I think it's part of education.
Back here, every field in Benton, 2 twos are score between Woodlawn and South Side or Jayhawk along with Bobby Swofford as it's 2A state title game between Woodlawn and South Side and Pretty Good Game so far.
Bobby could ask then we expected it, you know.
Early Woodlawn struck first that first inning took advantage of a little erratic pitching.
From Southside Branch Gus Hollands, scratch across 2 but Holland settled in, and now the Bee branch bats kind of started to come to life of late.
They've got a chance to tack on a couple more here.
Maybe get something going after scoring two in the third two runs on three hits for Woodlawn.
Two runs on four hits for Southside.
As we start at the bottom of the fourth inning.
So do up for South Side.
They will have with Hall and Andrew Raines.
The 5-6 hitters along with number 7 hitter Parker Hutchens.
But first up is Drew Hall in the catcher as they called strikes to me on the outside corner came with an 81 mile an hour fastball.
Until two in close games start to hit the middle innings like we are here, then you start to get a little tense because you can just kind of feel it in the ballpark and say you know, early innings.
Everybody's excited to be here every you know you'll pump for every at bat.
But now things are getting a little more stressful for the moms and dads and brothers and sisters and friends in the in the bleachers.
One one pitch.
Was low in school of two and one and one thing you notice is you saw Woodlawn playing very loose in that first inning and not so much since then.
Yeah, when a lot of that has to do the way that Holland has been pitching.
21 is check swing that's fouled back even count two and two.
And then, on the flip side of things, you could say that the branch was really tight.
Yeah, in the first inning, and they've really settled down.
Offensively and defensively, and go back to the very first batter of the game.
A good throw to first model.
Got him out and said it led to a big inning curveball swung out to short.
Case is there makes the throw it's good and.
63 on the put out.
Solid play there by case.
Arranging a bit to his left makes the play.
So that brings up Drew Raines now, who struck out back in the second inning.
Raines a 258 hitter this year with 26 RBI.
First pitch is swung on and missed.
Two from Edmonds there.
Reached back and found an extra mile an hour.
Topped out at 81 up to this .01 is up high.
Where is the 11 swan found back?
26 RBI's on the season for Raines.
Is 1/2 curveball swung on slap to right field were cut off by the second baseman.
Wanna play JT grace?
Was able to arrange to his left.
Do a little pure, wet the dirt and throw him out.
Nice job by reigns.
Makes the throw from a tuchus gets a second out of the inning.
Alright.
So up next is Parker Hutchins, who got a base hit, an infield base hit back in the 3rd, and.
We'll start off with the strike.
Ask well in there alone wanted one.
Going back to that play by JT Grace.
Here and arrange a long way to knock that one down.
Here's a fastball pumped in there at 82 that time and it's one and two now.
1/2 in there called strike three got it on the outside.
And just like that we got a picture still going on here in Benton 123.
Go the Hornets.
We head to the top of the fifth inning or the Woodlawn Bears are back at the top of their lineup and you're watching the Centennial Bank State Baseball championships in Arkansas.

Summer he calls for cool treats like ice cream, great burgers and other local favourites.
Discover some of the best and Arkansas dairy bars, neat eats and cool treats.
Premieres this summer.
See the complete schedule and set reminders at myrcrpbs.org/schedule.
You know there's a really cool dairy bar just down the street from here as the first pitch in to kill Edmonds.
Comes in.
You know in between games I may take you over there.
It's called the Salem dairy barn.
Just I mean, it's literally probably mile from here.
I mean, I'm not one to say no to.
It's pretty awesome.
Sweet eats and cool treats.
Here's the 10 and that's in there called a strike.
It's the 123 in the order for Woodlawn is Edmonds up first.
11's on the way, it's up top.
Holland up to 9 strikeouts.
Contact is not the pitch count of 77.
Really settled in nicely.
2 balls one strike.
Will hide 31.
Just underway here at the top of the fifth inning tie Ball Game 2/2.
Yes, 'cause Hollands on the mound.
However, the three one as the strike came with the fastball inside corner.
Please count 3-2 you know the velocity is not there.
You know he's upper 70s may touch 80, but I mean he's really touching his spots.
Really nice, you know, just one walk issued up to this point.
He's 3/2's wanna miss came with curveball.
That shows you the confidence he has to in his own stuff to come with the breaking ball in a full count.
So that brings up the number 2 hitter Ethan Gardner, who struck out back in the 3rd and was hit by a pitch later, came around to score in the 1st.
One out top of the fifth inning.
Swan and missed found Tipton liebhart anyways.
No solid.
As a sign here 01 swung on loop in the left field that will be down as Hutchens comes up with it.
And that'll be a base hit for Ethan Gardner.
And that for.
Woodlynne is the first base hit that they've had since the first inning.
And then I'll bring up.
Join Jayden Maness only baserunners.
They've had since the first inning came back in previous sitting in the fourth hit Battle Walk.
Man is with the runner up first.
Is over 2 on the day grounded out to short back in the third and struck out in the first?
Swing on out the third nice grab by the third baseman.
Drew rains runners going to advance, but that was a heck of a snag.
By drew rains, it was a rocket right at him, yeah?
Mama had a chance to get the lead runner, but he go ahead and get the sure out fires across the first.
But that was a missile off the bat of Manus.
And you see the couple hard but.
Leading hitter for this.
Woodlawn teams now over 3.
Jackson case is at the plate.
He had a two RBI single back in the first struck out in the third.
Runners at second now for Woodlawn.
I have a little meeting on the mound after.
Just solid is.
Take a little bit more time to think this one over.
Runner in scoring position now cases already touched him up for a two run single as you mentioned got 45 RBI's on the year.
Big spot for both case in Holland.
Here's the first pitch.
Takei swung on, popped up on the infield.
3rd Bay or First Base side to Johnson and he'll snag it for the third out.
So 4.
Woodlawn.
In the fifth they get one hit, no runs.
They strand one, we head to the bottom of the fifth inning and you're watching the Centennial Bank State Baseball championships in Arkansas.
PBS sports.
I think it's important for Arkansas PBS to have sports because it provides sports on a greater platform to the entire community, and it also gives people in various other communities an opportunity to see other schools and other athletes and to have a greater appreciation for not just their own community, but the sports that are available across the state of Arkansas.
There are so many lessons that sports provides and it's one of the reasons why it's so important to the next generation of athletes coming up.

In the state finals for PPS #3, but I will say that I can't, you know, every year the folks here at Arkansas PBS, they add a sport to the what they want to do.
So I can't wait till they have you call soccer next year.
You know, I'm here for it.
Grant, you know baseball is going on the same time, so we might put you at soccer over there.
You know, I'm a man of many talents, but that is one that I I don't know much about.
I could do the whole gun.
You know we had some interesting conversations last night.
You would have some conversations during the soccer match happened so we could talk about a lot in the 80 minutes we could get into what's going on with.
Ancient aliens on earth, right?
Here's the first pitch.
Encinar into.
The.
8 hole hitter, Baylor Hall.
You know, we've talked a lot about Holland 4 S branch and how well he's facing.
I think he'll Edmonds is worth talking about as well.
This right handed pitcher for Woodlawn.
Give it up just four hits, two runs.
3 strikeouts has not issued a free pass yet.
On ones up high, it's two and one knows this stuff not overpowering.
I don't you know.
Buccola knees breaking ball, but he's hitting his spots, making Southside branch trying to put it in play and more times than not he's coming up on the winning end of it.
Here's the two one fastball in there called a strike, and that's really all you ask.
His forager coaching staff and as a teammate just get somebody on there who's going to throw strikes and not hand the game away.
Yeah, and Edmonds has done exactly that.
Here's the 22.
Fastball call on the outside corner.
And it's another strikeout for Edmonds, first down here in the 5th.
And that brings up Ryan match it.
It's four days now for Edmonds.
Here's the first pitch to match it in their coldest rank, and I like what he's doing here.
The bottom half of the inning.
Just attacking the bottom sheet in the bottom of the inning, but also the bottom of the lineup is throwing strikes.
Make them swing the bat.
01 and brings going to.
O2's on the way?
Swung on, slap?
Found the right field sign.
Magic a little behind that fastball.
I don't see any reason if your admin is there anything but it make him trying to catch up with you.
Signal there asking for the basketball up O2 flap foul.
At the foot.
By the way, just got a text message from my.
A good friend, Chris Babb down at wash tongs.
He can't wait.
He can't wait to hear you do soccer.
I need to go to the key is you have to have a goal call of at least 11 seconds at least, yeah?
What does on the way swung on right back at the pitcher Edmond?
Nice job though.
By match it caught up with that.
Fastball is a little unlucky.
Hit it right back from where it came there.
Really good contact from the 9 hole hitter.
Took two outs here in the 5th.
As Connor Bice is back up, they go to the top line up.
Voice.
First pitch, Tobias is up.
I wanna know bye.
Got on because of the filters choice.
In the third and then had a single back in the first inning.
What you want from your leadoff man beyond base?
Twice in the first three innings.
Alright, miss little ball came in there and nicely.
That's a good vendor there.
Love the fastballs for the bottom of the lineup.
Mix things up for the top of the order.
Soccer bend it like Beckham.
Here's the 11 called the strike outside corner 1-2.
How many times did the soccer match you think you would use that term?
I would use it literally every time, any time that the anytime that it was curved in there.
I definitely would use 1/2 swung on lifting the left face it.
On base, all three times his bias got a pair of singles.
And now, Holland, who's got two RBI's for Southside Lee Branch has a chance to give himself a lead if you could find one in the gap.
Also with two outs here in the fifth inning.
Goes Holland comes to the plate.
And Holland.
Now we've got a pig move, but.
Runner was able to get all the way over to 2nd and there was nobody there and he'll awesome baggage along the way.
But nice aggressive baserunning by counter by's.
Pickoff attempts couldn't be handled by Stover over at first by some heads up play swipes the extra bag but again, he overshoots it.
Been able get back on second base before the tag is applied.
So now runner in scoring position for Holland.
You know, and I think we've talked about it quite a bit throughout the first couple of games in this tournament, but.
Here's the first pitch is it's a called strike.
I would right now give the award for the best hair team to Woodlawn.
You know, harbor last night they had a lot of kids with the bleach blonde hair going for the gold.
Look for the gold championship.
Zielone inside called a strike.
But the the long mains that some of these players have for Woodlawn is impressive.
Yeah, Jackson cases.
Shortstops got a nice headis lettuce.
Here's go to swing on right back.
At Edmonds, he's had to work, and he's going to step on the bank.
He doesn't with authority.
And we are done with five.
We are headed to the sixth inning tie Ball Game 2/2 between Woodlawn and South Side and you're watching the Centennial Bank State Baseball championships in Arkansas.

Two or two between Woodlawn and South Side Bee branch.
Here in the two a state title game and do up for the wood lot bears.
They will have their 567 hitters up in Garrett Co. Work, JT Grace and Owen Stover.
Cowards at the plate.
As the first pitch to him is going to be swung on and missed.
Since RJ is on his soccer kick, we must will update you from the 68 Girls State Championship game that's going on about 35 yards behind us.
Fayetteville Lady Purple Dogs have a 3 nothing lead on Bentonville W 10 minutes left.
01 fastball called Strike, so to Fayetteville.
I'm a virgin.
Captured another crown.
You know, I would like to be more well versed in soccer.
I don't know how to go about doing that.
Swatch it well, got that.
Here's the O2 swung on fouled bank.
I just don't know like all the.
Although there is really only one rule that you have to know, that's the offsides and if you touch it with your hands into that that too.
But if you can figure out the offside rule one, you probably have a PhD and two, you figured out the game of soccer because see if we did like.
Here's the O2 and it bounced away.
Now see if we had like high school hockey.
I'm all in, yeah I could.
I could do it all day long.
But I'm going to have to rely on you and Scott.
Well, it's essential locker.
What the offside rule in soccer in the Cliff Notes version, it prevents snowbirding.
It prevents you from this hanging out back by the kind of like LeBron in the NBA, right?
OK, correct.
Correlate the two, yes?
Here's the 1/2 swung on, fouled off, so looking forward.
Most offensive player cannot be behind the forward most defensive player without the ball.
See, I can't be just cut and dry like baseball.
Well, you know, man stands at second.
Stands it short?
Stay in the box to hit.
Here's the 1/2 swung on, found out of play.
You know?
Up in your part of the World Northwest Arkansas Carlos Chicas does a heckuva job on the soccer.
He does listen to some of those bro.
I don't know what's going on, but when I listen to it and I'm like this is amazing, this is a great job.
One ball 2 strikes.
Here's the pitch swung on.
Drug out how long to even drop down a little three quarter sidearm action with that one.
Change the arm angle.
It's a strikeout, a coward.
By the way, I just was texted this by.
Mason, who's in our truck right, says that you know, we've got the NFHS network right?
That's doing the soccer games currently.
Carlos Chicas actually doing the games over there.
Bingo, there we go see whoever's in charge of that.
They know what's up.
They knew who to go get nice.
So there's one out now here in the 6th, as JT Grace is at the plate.
As it takes first pitch strike.
Hollymount, 92 pitches.
So he's got 18 to play with.
Don't know if he's going to be able to finish it off through seven innings, but.
He's done a heckuva job on the mound pitch count.
Not really a factor on the other end for Edmonds here.
Zielone her pull up top one in one.
Stop the sixth inning.
One ones are count to JT.
Grace made a great play last inning in the field.
On one strike.
Count to 1/2.
11 Case for Holland looking for number 12.
Here he is starting to creep up there in that pitch count right now as he's got 93 or 94 pitches so far here in the game.
Here's the 1-2 or he was going to and then it was time called his plate.
1/2 swing on lifting the left and it's going to go well found.
Nice job there by Grace to get the hands in and turn on that baseball but.
Turn down a little bit.
Too much goes well, foul.
But he stays alive once you count.
One ball 2 strikes.
As Gus Holland fire in the 1/2.
In there called strike three, he's called that all day.
It's going to a great pitch for Gus Holland.
12 days now for Holland.
Another out from working a fifth straight clean inning.
You know there's nothing better to see than seeing a picture.
Identify the zone perfectly with the umpire and literally.
Gus Hall is throwing that pitch over and over has been a strike every single time.
He's really had good commands.
One hit batter one walk.
So now in stovers at the plane with two outs here in the 6th.
First pitch is found back.
And the one thing he's done a majority of the afternoon is work from ahead very few times as he fallen behind in accounting and giving up a hitters pitch.
Make it Woodlawn work for everything they've gotten.
Early since the third batter of the game.
01 swung on, popped up on the foul territory and it'll bounce right in front of the Woodlawn dugout.
Long way to run for Gage Johnson, the first baseman.
Couldn't pick him up and put him down fast enough to get over and make that play.
O2 now to own Stover.
Where is the O2 pitch fastball strike three.
There's a same pitch that same pitch you talked about.
RJ strikes out the side for the third time in the last four innings, and Gus Holland is straight dealer that is so we head to the bottom of the sixth inning tide two and you're watching the Centennial Bank State Baseball Championships.

Do that right now and you'll see that Gus Holland for Southside be branches 14 strikeouts compared to just one walk on the other side of things.
Kill Edmonds.
4 case for Woodlawn.
Only one issued based on balls.
Really, really good pitching match up and this to a state title game.
So South side be branches back at the plate and they will have their 234 hitters up with Gus Hall and Easton Swafford engage Johnston.
So.
Issued an intentional walk his last time up, yeah.
Add swap for jump rope one into center.
Help me on with the basic.
Almost made that look easy.
Last name like that you know you're a baller.
Again, no relation.
How many times I was wondering how many times you would say that we.
I think we have to clarify it because it would not be good journalism practice if I'm calling my brothers game, but she's not my brother or cousin would it up?
I mean, I don't think you'd be anything wrong with that as the no, I'd probably actually be harder on him first.
I mean, here's the thing, like if you called a family Members name, there's nothing wrong with that.
As long as you weren't like cheerleading form on on TV.
Oh, agreed.
As the first ones over.
This just knowing how I generally treat my nephews like they could hit a home run.
I was like OK, why don't you hit it farther?
It is wrong.
Well, you know you expect more.
Here 01 change up in there called a strike.
Kinda like wanna coach has their own child on their team.
Yeah yeah, coach him up a little harder.
Been there, done that.
Here's the O2 change up.
Breakthrough not coached my own team child, but I've been coached by my father.
Was he **** ** him?
But it made you better then absolutely you were in all American offensive lineman.
UCA.
Not quite.
OK, you are off at the White House Office of Loving you seeing this correctly.
All American off is the first pitch to wit Holland.
419 average 39 RBI's for the catcher.
Does have a good move to 1st?
72 pitches through.
Five and a third innings of work.
Forkel Edmonds work quickly worked effectively.
There's no one else long on fouled off.
Kept his defense active behind him.
Been up to the task.
Charged with one error.
What happened?
So the 11 the curveball called this tranquil back door breaker there.
Late kind of backed up on him.
Colin wasn't expecting it.
Now he's behind in the count.
One ball 2 strikes.
Here it is.
Runner goes swing on mass.
Attack him out, and Eastern Swafford is going to head into second base.
Offered slime 2nd.
But now with two outs he is in scoring position for drew rains.
Will take a two out base hit to give.
The branches chance to take the leaves so drew rains on the day is over two with a strikeout.
First pitch to him fast on the outside corner.
Three on the in stadium radar.
Now the offer to into.
I have a feeling Bobby that if.
You get anything into the outfield.
They're going home.
Yeah, they're gonna make you throw him out, yeah?
There's no question about that.
If, if reigns is able to get anything over the heads of the infield.
Swofford is probably coming home.
Yeah, that's basically forced to throw earlier in the game with a two run single from Gus Hollands.
Throw was well off the mark.
Form on chop the third.
Make the long throw and it's in there for the third out.
So for Southside Batesville.
They said four to the plate.
One gets on with a base hit but no runs scored.
We head to the 7th.
2 twos are scoring here watching the Centennial Bank State Baseball Championships in Arkansas.

There's Fridays at 7:30 PM and Saturdays at 10:00 AM right here on Arkansas PBS.
OK, as we start the seventh inning.
The Southside Bee Branch Hornets are going to have Gus hauling out there trying to.
Close this thing down, but Woodlans got.
Some other fonts is Brayton Stevens comes to the plate.
It'll be 891 on the line up the brain.
Stevens Parker wrote and an Cal Edmonds.
Here's the first pitch to Stevens is called strike, but one thing we gotta pay attention to RJ that was pitched number 100 for Gus Holland AAA rule states you can throw 110 pitches before you have to be taken out of the game.
Now pitch 110 if it happens during an at bat.
That picture is allowed to finish the advantage he pumps another one across for a strike.
He can't finish that at bat, but he had to be taken out after that batter.
So 9 pitches to spare for Gus Holland who's got 14 strikeouts.
Otuz account.
Yeah, that's one on and not wasting any of these pitches now he's at 102 with another strikeout.
By the way, he was at 14 strikeouts.
That makes 15 now, Parker wrote, and is going to be at the plate.
Wrote have struck out twice today.
789 for.
Woodlawn's been set down now seven times.
First pitch is a bit inside, wanna know?
So I know the thought process here for.
Coach Ligon and for Holland.
Somehow get to the batter with two outs before you hit #110.
One on one one.
He's going to throw nothing but strikes.
Try to get to the top of that order.
He's at 104 pitches now.
Here's 11.
Curveball swung on and fouled off.
It's 1/2.
So far for Woodlawn, two runs four hits and an error.
Southside is 216 hits, no errors if we put a pedometer on Holland up, but he's walked about 3 miles behind the mound.
Yeah, no, you're right.
Wandering around between pitches.
Here's the 1/2 fastballs swung on fouled back, but it works.
Look at it, this back collects himself back to the mound.
Getting the steps in for the day.
There's one two pitch.
Off speed found off.
Java staying alive by Roton.
So basically, right now, if you're Southside Bee branch, you need them to get roads and out right now, because the next two pitches.
Yeah, within the next two pitches in order so he can start on the next batter, correct?
And wrote and sitting there thinking up.
I'm gonna keep family over these things off.
Here's the one to swing on a miss.
Another strikeout 16.
That's exactly what they wanted.
If you're Southside Bee branch, you get.
Your star pitcher with 16 strikeouts at least to start the at bat with Edmonds.
This is likely going to be.
His final matterface, unless it's a one pitch out as let's say if you get one pitch out then he comes back for one more.
If we have extra innings.
Either way.
A heck of a performance from Best Holland, yeah, we'll have to pull up the record book it soon.
The number is for strikeouts on a championship game, but he's got to be up there.
First pitch is a curveball in there called a strike.
Outside of the first inning, he is just dominated.
They want to matter number five or six he settled in.
And he is pumping it across the plate.
01 is low.
Count 11 and the velocity hasn't dipped and he hasn't lost command.
He's and you know he's not as far as size wise.
He's not a big kid, but he's pumping it in there.
Here's the one one and it's in.
Have his day will be done.
Well, now he's going to be disappointed with how his day is going to finish, but.
Really really good performance here from Gus Holland.
So now Tommy Richardson.
Excuse me not.
Jeff religion is going to make his way out.
Anne.
Pull Gus Holland from the ball game and when we come back we will have the new pictures you're watching.
The Centennial Bank State Baseball Championships in Arkansas.
PBS kids.
You know, I think sports are really big to a lot of people, and because it is an important part of our fabric in our community and one good thing about what I've seen is its high quality production.
You know, you think of the small communities all over Arkansas.
It's a big deal that they can turn on the TV or DVR or whatever, and they're going to quality product.
And so I think it just expands the focus of what PBS is doing.
You know Arkansas PBS is doing a great job and I think it's part of education.
Well, they haven't officially gotten the new picture yet for Southside.
Holland is done at all.
You see the numbers there.
16 strikeouts is one walk.
He drove in the two runs for the Bee Branch offense.
Come pick up all the tape.
They're on the mount, waiting on for the relief pitcher.
Coach Logan said.
Eastern Swafford would be another possibility.
I mean he's got a ton of tape on taping up those risks.
The new the new picture for Bee Branch is going to be Connor biased.
The center fielder.
So Connor buys.
Comes in senior centerfielder, now pitcher.
An output Gus Holland into center field.
So as they get some warm up.
Hey Bobby, you makes you wonder as far as just complete domination that Gus Holland had earlier in this ball game.
Now you, you're you're in the final inning.
Essentially you've got one out to get biceps come in just right.
You gotta throw strikes, grant this is atithi order number 2 coming up.
You don't want to play something over the plate, but they played so well, defensively which?
So well did Holland you hate to see it slip away?
So just come in, throw strikes, don't try to do too much.
Don't try to match how good Holland was.
Pitch your game and just trying to get this one out and get your office the chance to come up in the bottom of it to win it.
But going back to what Holland did, I. I know we've talked about 16 K's in this ball game.
Not not enough has been said.
I know we talked about a lot this inning, but he is just really done.
A great job commanding this really potent offense that they would not have.
He really is.
But now Woodland has new life because they weathered the storm of the starting pitching.
Now they've gotten to the bullpen and now that they probably think they're thinking to themselves, hey, we got a chance to go out here and win this game.
Well, now we're back to action as 4 Woodlawn at the plate is going to be Ethan Gardner 2 hole hitter runner at first base.
First pitch runner goes curveball.
They're going to throw down, and that's going to sail the shortstop and the runner, Edmonds, is going to get in easily.
Instantly put pressure on vice.
Runner in scoring position.
Now you're going to change up the signs.
Big spot for Ethan Gardner's got 25 RBI's on the season.
So.
The.
10 pitch on the way.
Here it is, it's.
Outside to go to know.
Bicis year 18 innings pitched.
He's wanna know so far he's had 30 strikeouts, only ten walks.
In the area of 2.33 as he looks back to 2nd.
13th appearance of the season does have some experience in relief.
Real.
All the strike outside corner 31.
In case you're wondering what the championship record is.
Jimmy Bradford had 18 strikeouts in six and a third innings of work, so we struck out 18 of the 19 batters.
He retired in 1973.
Pine Bluff versus Greenwood, Re one up top.
And so he's going to walk him.
But now you've got runners at 1st and 2nd.
As Jordan Manis comes to the plate, manis is over three on the day.
Struck out back in the first grounded to short, grounded the third, the 5th.
Now Holland had success against Manus, but.
Leading hitter for this Woodlawn team 63 RBI's average well over 500.
Comes up in a huge spot curve.
All right side.
Both runners were going to advance.
Wild pitch now got two in scoring position and one thing we gotta pay attention to.
Now RJ another wild pitch could allow the leading run to score.
Windows account.
Two outs.
Pitch on the way, swung on, popped up.
Back behind home plate.
We're going to make the catch, and by staying in and pulled off his catching.
No communication there.
He has a center fielder.
You're used to having control of it.
They try to make the play, but he and his catcher collided and neither one can make the play.
Tough break there.
For Southside branch.
These are those opportunities RJ have mentioned that if you get new life you get an extra extra chance to score runs.
Gotta take advantage.
So it's one in one or the top of the seven.
Two out stop the seven.
Runners at second and Third Spice with the 11UP high.
First base is now open, so he doesn't have to concede anything here to Manus.
The Jackson case, who had a two run single back in the first waiting on deck.
Is the two one swung on and missed it's 22.
Went right through that 77 mile an hour fastball.
Manis, as I said over three on the days, the number 3 hole hitter for Woodlawn.
Here's the 22.
Great job to lay off that pitch by Maness.
He mentioned he only struck out late from now, five times this season, including one today.
Impatience at the plate not to give in even on a 22 count.
3 balls, two strikes, two outs top the seven.
Here's the pitch swung on out to short.
Mix it up those across for the third out.
Walter gets it done.
And we're headed to the bottom of the seventh inning.
South South Side has a chance to win this ball game in the bottom of the 7th and you're watching it right here on Arkansas PBS sports.

All you have to go is youtube.com/arkansasPBS Well we are in the bottom of the seventh inning.
An Southside Bee branch has a chance to try to win this thing.
Here the 7th is.
We've got a tie ball game 2/2.
You see the box score right there.
Woodlawn scored their two in the first inning.
B branch got theirs in the third.
And nobody's done anything since then, because it's been a pitchers duel ever since that point.
But back on the mound for Woodlawn is going to be cool Edmonds.
He's only pitched 79 pitches so far in this game we saw where Gus Holland had to leave because he had reached that pitch count by AAA regulations, so.
Really goes Holland, urged Miko Edmonds got a ways to go.
They could stay out there for a little bit longer, but either way you've got Parker Hutchens for Southside Bee Branch.
It's the 789 hitters as first pitch misses inside.
Edmonds got 6 strikeouts, just one walk.
We did a nice job commanding the zone, much like Holland on the other side is 1 hiccup of an inning.
One knows Fallbach even up 11.
Giving up six hits.
And remember one of those walks is actually intentional.
11 Upon 21.
2 balls, one strike just under way here in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Pitch on the way and found back.
22 Swing on miss.
So now that brings up Baylor Hall now, who's over 2 on the day with two strikeouts.
Oh, oh L. First pitch is up high.
I wanna know big spot here from the bottom of the lineup for Southside Bee Branch and you've got two freshmen, one Baylor Hall, here Next up going to be Ryan.
Match it.
Talk about being thrown into the fire.
Next one is called a strike.
Paul is a 159 hitter this year, hitting that 8 hole.
Second ones up top two and two and one.
Ryan matches on deck for Southside branch.
Here's the two one.
Low and outside of three and one.
Last thing you want to do is give a free base.
Relax, make him earn it.
Here's the three one pitch.
Ask what we called a strike outside corner.
That's a good pitch there on the outside or third.
Grand two now.
It is slow, I miss.
Behind in the count.
3-1 but Edmonds battles back and get strikeout #8.
Pitch count is now at 90.
So Ryan matches at the plate.
Match it has been hit by a pitch and he lined out to the pitcher.
Back in the 5th.
First one to him so called strike.
Here's the 10 that's fouled back.
I want to.
Cole Edmonds, now at 93, pitches for the game.
02 baldauff you know really the best thing.
The bottom of this order can do is just make him keep throwing pitches.
That's right.
His battle Malbec and you can tell Edmonds is in attack mode does not want to waste pictures.
Does not want to see the top of the line.
I've come back to bat.
02 called strike three.
Edmonds comes in.
123 all strikeouts.
So we got a little extra baseball going on today.
We're headed to the top of the eighth inning.
Woodlawn to Southside, be branch two and you're watching the Centennial Bank State Baseball championships in Arkansas.

Connor buys comes back out to start the age for the Southside Bee Branch Hornets as the Woodlawn Bears will have the 456 hitters up in Jackson case.
Garrett Cowart and JT Grace.
Here's the first pitch, as it'll be a fastball that misses outside to Jackson case.
It's worth noting Woodlawn has not put together multiple hits in anything since the 1st.
No.
This is outside.
It's too no.
Did have multiple baserunners in the 4th and.
The seventh innings couldn't push one across.
2 balls, no strikes, and it's in there to go.
Dorino two and one.
Counts two and two.
Now here's the pitch swung on and missed.
Great job by Bista.
Battle back there not giving the case alright so let's just try to go.
Yeah, they had they had this scoreboard met.
Messed up on its accounts.
Actually three and two.
That I almost public.
Here's the three two it's found off.
I had it see I had it right in my book and I did everything everybody was looking at me going.
Why you?
Why you gonna mess up your just saying you always you just always go with your own scorebook then you don't have to rely on anybody else.
In my school books not wrong so.
It's not hard to run a scorebook.
Here's the three two swung on, found off.
Top the eighth inning.
2 balls, two strikes.
3 balls, two strikes scuse me.
And now we've got time at the plate.
Woodlawn 2 Southside two.
Here's the three two curveball.
Misses he's gonna walk.
Close pitch.
There, but my stomach all case.
So as a leadoff walk.
By the way.
There's been so many numbers from school board dates being a little delayed, so nobody's nobody, one persons fault never just got sent over to us from the press box.
I had to write on my book.
So now that brings up JT Grace.
Who Grace is over 2 and he got hit by a pitch today.
Here's one that sales for the back of the backstop, but that's going to advance.
Coward to second base.
Now the second straight inning Woodlawn's got a runner in scoring position.
Roll no strikes.
Here's the pitch.
It's up I do know.
Two hours on the way, here's a popped up bunt.
Play little small ball is Woodlawn.
Try to get the.
Go ahead, run over to 3rd with just one ounce.
The idea here.
2 balls one strike.
Puts up a popped up bunt to 30 missing.
We missed in the water kind of stopped running now everybody say.
I'm looking into the gloves.
Drew Range was coming up.
It was a short pop up at 3rd and.
Reins I think, took his eye off of it, and we're seeing where the runner was and missed it altogether.
Big break there for coward.
Coming chopped at the bunt.
Didn't let the ball travel.
Pops up the 3rd and see there just took his eye off it at the last moment.
It stays fair first and second after the error.
Brings up the seven hole hitter Owen Stover now.
He's going to bunt gets it down.
They throw the 1st and missed it here.
Come to run, work on this one right here.
Brings in the second the falls.
We throw all the way in two months score.
And for Stover, he's going to get all the way to 3rd.
It was a bug that he put down.
Indecision by advice.
Got him all the way to 3rd after the error.
Grace gets the bunt down.
A throw goes down the right field line.
Three base error.
Or more importantly, two runs come into score.
Vice was a bit indecisive with the baseball history.
Picked it up off the bunt.
Thought he was going to go to second.
Tommy had to go first to put a little extra on its sales over the first baseman's head and Woodlawn is stolen.
All momentum for this contest.
Antonow Braden Stevens is that the plate?
Excuse me, now that's going to be owing.
Stover is going to be at the plate.
So stover.
On the day he has struck out twice, and flied to center field back in the 1st.
First pitch is called strike.
Runner at 3rd.
They sit in the center field that's going to score a run against past the center fielder.
He's gonna keep running.
Stove around 2nd.
Oh well, third, but he'll stop at third with a triple.
Martin had a chance to send him as the relay throw as well beyond second base, but.
Woodlawn settles for the three days.
RBI for stover.
It's three runs here in the top of the eighth.
And now Brayden Steven comes up still.
No outs here in the top of the eighth.
Curveball swung on and missed.
Triple or excuse me an error.
On the center fielder.
Balls one strike.
To Braden Steven.
As he pumps a fastball in four.
The second stride, it's 02.
There's been three errors so far.
Or two errors so far in this setting.
02 swung on missed will be tagged out.
That's the first out here in the 8th.
Or strike out for Bice.
17th strikeout as a team.
With those two errors, as you just mentioned, RJ.
They are the difference right now.
Three runs have come across for Woodlawn, so Parker wrote in is going to be at the plate.
Curveball swung on, found off.
No ones on the way swung on popped up.
Shallow centerfield.
And the shortstop swampers there to get it from the second album.
So actually three errors this inning.
Pop up to the third baseman wasn't caught, that's right.
You're right.
Throwing everybody the picture, then the fielding error by the centerfielder, yeah?
Two outs though.
We branch they want to chance the rally.
They've got to find a way to Strand that runner at 3rd.
So now that brings us back to the top line, up to Cole Edmonds.
Anne.
First pitch is going to be called a ball.
One's on the way, curveball up high.
His accounts to know.
You know, Cal Edmunds is the guys.
It's been a workhorse on the mounds though.
94 pitches.
Thought he might have a chance to be a tough luck loser, but now he has a chance to not only add to a three run lead but maybe finish this off in the bottom of the eighth himself on the mound.
20 Pitch is a strike to bring two in one.
Two out stop the 8.
Woodlawn scored three so far.
Here's the two one swung on, fouled back to two.
News.
By sues looking at the decide to step off the Mound, Re collect himself.
Here's the two two curveballs swung on and fouled.
Tipped it.
In the dirt just stays alive, does Edmunds?
One for four today 2017.
Average on the season.
Here's the Tutu.
Apply.
Take things full at three and two.
3/2 curveball in their strike.
Three good pitch there to get out of that inning.
So at the end of.
The top of the eighth inning.
Woodlawn strikes with three runs in the inning.
Three errors by Southside.
We head to the bottom of the eighth inning where Southside can either try to tie or win the ball game and you're watching the Centennial Bank State Baseball championships in Arkansas, PS4.

The Bears trying to close this thing down.
Final line for Edmonds, who's in line for the victory.
9 strikeouts.
Just one walk, gave up two runs on six hits.

Anne 4.
South Side Bee Branch there gonna be back to the top the line up with Connor Bice.
Gardner comes in from center, so we've got a new centerfielder as well.
First pitches up top, wanna know?
We want to pitch one outside.
Down to 111.
Here's the 11.
Fastball misses outside two and one.
2 ones on the way.
Curveball swung on popped up, left field over into foul territory.
They're going to slide quite get to it.
Long way to run for Roton can't track that one down.
Counts now even at two and two.
Connor buys, we talked about it on the season, hitting 504 in that leadoff spot.
Here's the 22.
Sail outside and go forward three and two.
If you guys just gotta find a way to get on.
A walks just good as knock here.
Like let's say his run means nothing, but they need baserunners.
Here it is.
Swan popped up Sky High and the.
Foul territory, third base side and the catch is made by Manus.
The big first down for Woodlawn retired.
The leadoff hitter Buice.
Been on base three times already this afternoon.
And I guess Holland.
Trying to save his day on the mound.
He deserved.
He pitched well enough to get a win.
It's going to take some work.
Alan had a.
Single earlier but two RBI single.
Kurpfalz in there called strike.
On top of the plate you can see his elbow and hands are hovering over the plate.
Well, that curveball just vents right over his body, arriving to the strike zone.
01 curveball Well, it's gonna hit him on his elbow now.
They're going to call him back.
He called it a strike that was right down the middle.
He was hovering over the plate, even if the Senate did hit him, he hit him in the strike zone.
Colin tried to pick up a freebie there.
I thought it.
I mean watch the replay here.
Yeah, he stuck his arm out trying to get him, but it's a strike, yeah, if we if we see the wide angle that is right down the middle of the police.
Alright, just tried to steal one and.
Home plate a umpires having none of it.
Well O2's account?
Here it is.
£1.00 back.
ASIO, two curveball.
I'm gonna call him out.
There's two now trying to check a swing, but couldn't hold up, and Gardner's got a good looking breaking ball in Woodlawn's.
One out away from yet another state championship for their school and coach Tommy Richardson.
So eastern swofford.
We will be going to University of Arkansas to play baseball.
Is that the plate?
No.
First pitch inside, called ball.
Want to pitch on the way?
Her ball swung on, lifted back into center field.
Salford he is just found a way to get on base well.
Intentional walks two singles back up the middle.
422 average coming into this one just a junior.
So he'll be back next year.
Really good ballplayer.
Obviously you don't get an SEC offer if you're not an elite high school player.
Swofford's got all the tools.
Now that brings up Gage Johnston.
First pitch is up high.
2nd on the team, six homers.
At the Hornets near base runners.
One ball nose strike.
Swung on, pound back.
One ball, one strike now.
For Gage Johnson would Hollands up next.
101st Swofford.
Here's the 11.
Curveball this is high.
So it's 2 balls in one strike now to Johnston.
21 swung on, found out of play.
Find a way to extend the mat.
Extend this game if you're Johnston.
That'll put a barrel on it.
See the Woodlawn fans starting to get on their feet as good as the vendors been for Gardner.
He's surprised if anything other than the hook comes.
2 balls, two strikes.
Here it is swung on, found out a plane.
Change speeds on him.
What change up to 67 miles an hour on that one and sneak one past him left it too high in the zone though.
Do it over again.
Two and two.

The Woodlawn Bears or your 2021.
Class 2A state champions as they win this one five to two over Southside Bee Branch and Bobby Swofford say this was a heck of a game pitchers duel all the way through this one.
An in the game changed when the pressure it seemed like got to the relief of Southside be branded.
The starting pitching was so good for fever and with Gus Holland 16 strikeouts.
Second most ever in the state championship game we believe in this dealing but you know.
Woodlawn just couldn't figure anything out after the first inning against Holland.
Soon as they got to the bullpen.
Think you see the nerves got to be branch?
They couldn't make the I'm going to call in.
The routine plays the pop up to the third base with the air.
The throw to first another air single to centerfield.
Didn't take a good angle.
Another air on that top of the eighth inning.
Three run score.
3 errors were committed.
Not taking anything away from Woodlawn.
They obviously earned this game.
They played very, very well, but they got a lot of help in that eighth inning.
And that was that was a tough inning for Southside Bee Branch.
And look it you got you can't take anything away from Woodlawn.
Though.
I mean these guys they they just fought and clawed it in the pitching performance that they had was outstanding in this one and it was just overall just a great baseball game.
That really was.
I mean they didn't let Ethan or excuse offered beta.
Yeah, that's really what it came down to.
They didn't let the best player on the field beat them even though it's going to the SEC and you see Woodlawn Capture State championship.
#7 all with coach Tommy Richardson all since 2008.
Pretty impressive what they've been able to build their with the Bears program, but the way that kill Edmonds pitch today.
Came through at the plate as well.
There's a reason he's about to get that MVP Black.
Final stats for the ball Game Force 4 Woodlawn Edmonds went one for four.
Ethan Garner went one for two Jackson case, one for three with two RBI and then Owen Stover one for four with an RBI and this one pitching Cal Edmund seven innings gave up six hits, two runs, two earned runs, one walk, 9 strikeouts.
Face 25 batters for Southside Bee branch.
