We are set for a good one.
These two teams know each other extremely well as their conference foes, they played a couple times this year.
They know what's on the line that neither team has been on a bigger stage than what they are seeing today and these two teams played the non conference schedule to get to this point.
They both expected to make a run to the state championship for the game.
That month is the most reflective last game of the regular season.
Marion slowed the pace tremendously.
7 point contest so this is not a landslide.
Like you may be thinking just because Jonesboro won the first two.
This one gonna be highly contested.
Who makes the big run?
Who makes the big mistake in the wrong time?
You know, in that game against Mary Mary and actually at the half one by they were up by 9 points at the half.
Jonesboro had to come back in that ball game to pull out the win.
You look at Jonesboro though.
They've got they've got a star studded lineup and it's really led by John Williams.
And this is the kids he's already signed with Oklahoma State.
He's a do it all player for him, averaging 14 points a game.
Yeah?
And sometimes they leave him bring him off the bench, 14 points, 5 rebounds.
Can I do it all?
It's a really balanced team when you look at the roster, but you always want to look to that leader that playmaker when you need him most and keyon certainly this is that now on the opposite side for Marion Ryan Forest.
Is there junior forward averaging 19 points a game?
You know his brother, Jayden Forest is averaging 14 points a game.
Those two kind of go back and forth as being the MVP of the ballclub.
Anytime you're talking about a double digit score, that's one thing, but a guy who's averaging nearly twenty.
Those are the type of players who can take over basketball games, and he.
#3 averaging 19 points.
Gotta keep an eye on for us if he can get inside, mix it up.
He may be leaving here with the title the Jonesboro hurricane come into the ball game ranked 30th in the nation, according to maxpreps.com.
They're all.
There's only two teams in Arkansas in the top 50 Jonesboro and North Little Rock.
North Little Rock in Jonesboro.
Earlier in the year played in Jonesboro.
One that ball game Jonesboro has not lost to anybody from the state of Arkansas this year 27 and three, and the resume is impressive.
Beat Little Rock mills twice.
The team that was in the four a semifinals beat both teams that are in the six A state championship Bentonville and North Little Rock and oh, by the way, they beat the other team that was in the semifinals, Little Rock Central, the largest classification West Swift, has built a program.
He also built the schedule knowing I've got to schedule up in the non gun to have a chance to win another title.
I'm talking with David Clark before the ball game for Mary and I asked him.
I said what concerns do you have?
Is there any concerns at all?
He said, you know what?
We learn the playbook in that last game.
Slow him down.
I said are you worried about the atmosphere?
Because it is a big game.
He said look anytime you play the number 30th team in the country every game is a big game.
He said it doesn't matter where it's played.
I really think you're going to see a high intense a really fast paced game to start this one.
But then about second quarter things will slow down a little bit and maybe the recipe for success was on display during the girls game.
Greenwood jumped out to an early lead and started to take this big Jonesboro crowd out of it.
Never really let them get behind their team.
With the exception of one run.
If Marion can come out, get a couple easy buckets, play from ahead to give themselves a better chance to takedown Jonesboro and maybe pull off one of the bigger upsets we've seen in recent history.
OK, let's go over the starting lineups as we'll first start with the Marion Patriots.
They will come out with a 2 forward two guard in the center line up and it'll start with Jayden force, the junior guard.
He's followed by Ryan Forest, the junior forward Dante more, the senior forward.
Their center is a freshman.
He's a big center in Terrian Burgess, averaging 10 points a game.
And then there are other guard on the floor is going to be junior guard Donnie cheers, averaging 10 points a game.
As for Jonesboro, they come out with a 3 guard, two forward line up.
Their guards are Marian Wilson, Deon Buford Wesson, as well as Jesse Washington and the two forwards Isaac Carroll and Kayvon Pointer.
You look at the starting 5 Bobby everybody has offers.
On the table, you've got a commitment possibly coming to Harding for Isaac Harrell, but really the best on ball defender is Deon Buford.
Is we're underway here at Hot Springs is I want to start for Jonesboro RJR, right off the tip assembly Golden Hurricane got themselves an early lead.
Marion with the basketball is they work it over to the left corner.
With the basketball is more.
It's stone away taken by Jonesboro, he slings at home.
Forrest give it to the actor really steal the one handed punch.
And I said Marian is gonna take the crowd out of it.
This is the opposite of doing that with the basketballs.
Ryan Forrest is, he'll bring it up for the Patriots just underway here in the five A state championship game.
Forest works it back over to the topside to his brother Jayden Forest.
Gotta find a way to settle down.
If you're marrying forced from the right side is able to stop and pop and Marion's on the board.
It's four to two.
Mid range game kind of the last start for it's going to see if we can start to heat up.
Brian Wilson with the basketball gives it off over to Washington.
There's no shot clock in Class 5A this year, so they can be as patient as they want to, but this may be playing right into Marion hands now here's lesson, just gives it back over left side to pointer.
They're just trying to find an open spot.
Is Marion's playing great defense?
Spin?
Move in the lane with the right hand, takes it off the glass and we've got a 6-2 lead in a quick timeout charge over to Marion and Bobby.
One thing that we're going to see a lot in this game is defense.
From Jonesboro and West, Swift told me Deon Beaufort Wesson is the single best on ball defender that he's ever coached, and I think with marriage defense that they showed in the last game and into the defense of Jonesboro, plays you almost you you want to see a shootout but you could see a really good defensive ball game were these two teams are gonna try to grind it out.
They know each other.
I mean mileage wise they're not too far apart.
These guys grow up playing against each other.
AAU Summer league team camp.
There's gonna be no surprises today.
It's going to be a gutsy performance and whoever can get those stops, but you're talking about those defensive efforts.
Gotta be able to grind out extra possessions, get some extra possessions for yourself.
That's gonna be the difference.
Marion with the basketball is Jonesboro leads at six to two full court presses on by Jonesboro.
At the midcourt stripe, we've got a whistle and a foul that's gonna be charged to cave on.
Pointer for Jonesboro little too aggressive on it.
Might have had the half court trap right near the timeline with little too aggressive bump team over Marion gets the benefit of the call.
Inbound pass comes over left side that's in the hands of Phillip Tillman Tillman back over to Wilson.
Heavy defense right now.
By 4th now here's cheers, cheers.
Try to get a pass download stolen away, take him by Washington.
Great job, just get the hands in the passing lane now to create some offense off the turnover.
Washington goes back top.
The key puts in the hands of Wilson.
He goes right side over the pointer and he's able to knock it in to solve the size.
Come in, try to get that one off the window as quickly as it could.
Great start for the Hurricane update 2.
Now with the basketball is forced well Marion at the free throw line lost the handle on it.
Taken by Western lesson in the lane, and he's fouled.
We might have an intentional foul here RJ is that was a hard foul going towards the basket getting together.
Discuss it.
Call bad is it going to be an intentional foul on Jayden Forest?
And so that'll send to the free throw line?
Dion Beaufort, Wes.
And did you see the speed by Buford Wesson makes the steal.
They're even in all of a sudden he just explodes into the front chance of the laying out two shots and the basketball for Jonesboro.
Rolls around and it's good.
She did come in.
Be able to settle in if you're marrying with offensive pressure, clearly affecting them early for Jonesboro.
Winter championship in the first quarter, but you could certainly lose.
1 Patriots got to settle in.
Probably you know these two teams we talked about.
It played each other multiple times.
You've got so much familiarity with between the two, you really don't have an advantage for either squad and you would think almost it would affect Marion more than wood Jonesboro.
And we've got an offensive foul against Jonesboro.
Around that time was charged to the variance Montgomery.
The pressure is always said to be on that the favored team coming into a title game will.
Jonesboro took that and threw it out the window with the quick bucket off the tip to turn over in the easy slam.
All the nerves settled in on the 1st 2 possessions without any concession.
Now here's cheers as he'll swing it back right side to force force and Kick It Out to the corner.
For three.
It's no good at.
It bounced around and we've got a whistle foul that.
3 point attempt was buying Lynndale Buckingham.
The final is going to be charged on by Jesse Washington for Jonesboro.
Inbound Pass will come from the baseline.
504 to play here in the first quarter, Jonesboro out to attend to two lead.
Ariens slowed the pace you mentioned already.
The last time these two met we got a whistle up top 37 to 30.
No.
The hurricane really wanted to push the temple early on to get that in their favor.
The vans but gum re was the one that was called with that foul as checking the ball game now it's going to be Kyle and Kelly as well as Phillip Tillman for Jonesboro.
21 Inbound Pass comes to Ryan Forrest.
That's wonder 5 to play here in the first quarter.
A way to get forged more involved.
He's got the loan bucket from the Patriots.
Get him something going towards the basket.
Four stands on the championship logo on left side of the court.
Work it back over to cheers.
Trying to go down low with it throws it out of bounds.
Trying to hook up that time with Donnie.
Cheers and it goes out of bounds and goes with Jonesboro Bobby.
One thing that fans can look forward to, you know in years to come here in the championships.
All classifications will use that shot clock and I think it's needed.
It's, you know, watch this.
The largest classification watched every game at the state tournament last week.
This is not a factor once you get used to playing with it.
It's a better speed.
Better tempo.
Thank you.
See better basketball now.
Here's a pass on site.
Stornoway by Mary bring into the frontcourt.
Here comes, Burgess in the lane, lost the handle on it and it's taken out by Jonesboro working quickly.
Whiteside and it's gonna be a foul list is another intentional foul.
Leave this one.
RJ is going to go against Dante more just wasn't going to give up the easy flush.
New intentional fouls in the 1st 4 minutes of this contest was it on morale?
Was it on Burgess?
Yeah it is.
It is Dante more.
That'll be his first personal foul and his free throws for Jonesboro and knocking it down is Kyle and Kelly.
I understand not wanting to give up an easy bucket, but you can't go in.
You have to make a play at the basketball that sound tried to undercut him.
Easy call.
Given Jonesboro two shots and the possession of the basketball he's only missed the second there and that's why they jumped out to a 9-2 lead.
Jonesboro will get the basketball with 401 to play in the first quarter here, that student section for Jonesboro.
Just you don't think they're having fun with the girls game that just got over and now the boys game and they're looking for something to cheer about.
The guys have certainly done that in the opening forward.
Here's a pass that works right side in the hands of Wesson.
This set up the offense as they work at left side over to Wilson.
Now here's the three by Weston, and he's able to rattle at home.
Everything is coming up aces right now for Jonesboro.
Already up a dozen 14 to two Jonesboro on top is bringing it up to me.
Donnie cheers.
Let's find a way to create yourself an easy bucket.
Nothing's come easy so far.
For Marion, we're gonna run your best set here.
Try to stop this bleeding cheers, lost the handle, but he was fouled.
For the foul, that time is gonna go against Jonesboro Phillip Tillman and that'll take us to immediate timeout 323 to play here in the first quarter, Jonesboro leads the five A state Championship 14 to two.

All you gotta do is download the Arkansas PBS engage app to get all the numbers live during the game.
Actually I got that app two or three years ago and keep up with everything going on.
And here's a Miss Slam dunk attempt as the ball is taken right into the hands of Jonesboro.
With the ball for the hurricane is gonna be Phillip Tillman that could have been a big play momentum swing for the Patriots instead.
Jonesboro gets a break the other way.
Ball is an offensive rebound for Jonesboro.
Now here's another three by Tillman.
He said knock it down.
Girl just got everything going.
We gotta stop at the play.
What do you call?
You got a warning.
Between.
It looks like it was a delay of game warning, it's Jonesboro and so checking the ball game now for Marion is going to jail and white.
Is a perfect start.
RJ if you're Jonesboro, not only you jump out to a big lead, get the crowd into it and now you've got a chance to deliver a knockout blow here in the first quarter.
As goes down low in and out of the hands of Jaylen Jaden Forest, Jonesboro.
Get it back with 243 to play here in the first quarter.
Doing an inside doing it with defense.
Let's start knocking down these outside perimeter shots.
RJ it's going to be tough for the Patriots to try to climb back into this contest.
All works left side to Wilson into the hands of.
Glass soon and now we've got an offensive foul as there was a push off by Buford Wesson for Jonesboro and Marion will get the basketball back.
Turn over, do something that sparks Marion and it seemed out of sorts.
Don't seem to be comfortable offensively, not in the right spots defensively.
One good possession on defense gets the turnover.
We translate that to points on the other end.
Start that climb up the mountain.
Jayden pours dribbled it off of his knee is taken by Jonesboro working it quickly lays it off the glass that Jesse Washington.
Protect the basketball marians.
Turn it over 6 times already in the 1st 6 minutes.
With the ball is going to be Donnie cheers as he had it stolen away.
Another turnover here comes Jonesboro Kelly off the glass misses it.
It's taken him by Marian.
Try to be a little too fancy there.
Did Jonesboro forest for three off the back of the iron.
No good rebound's pulled in by Kelly working it quickly into the frontcourt.
Here comes Jonesboro.
We've got a whistle and a foul.
As with the basketball for Jonesboro, it was Keyon Williams.
We'll find out who the fouls on it looks like they're going to call it on Donnie.
Cheers.
I'll say that he was going up since two shots Al Chance for the hurricane to add more points from the foul line on these three or four.
Attempted four shots in this contest.
8 turnovers.
Not from here and good.
You look at it for Jonesboro, they're on a 15-O run of the last four minutes and 49 seconds.
There's been 7 turnovers in the last five minutes and 25 seconds and no coincidence.
Mary hasn't scored in that 525.
Can't score if you're not taking shots and they're just giving too many easy chances for Jonesboro.
And that's why they've got a 19 point lead.
I'm marrying with the basketball as Burgess brings it up quickly gives it all over the forest.
Excuse me, let's cheers.
Cheers and Elaine with the right hand.
It's off the back of their no good rebound pulled in by Jonesboro.
Working left side.
Uncle Baghadi ironing with the soft touching it goes.
Leon Williams was able to get the put back.
It's 23 two.
That's the athleticism we talked about in the pregame RJ.
Able to stick splode the offensive board of Big Bucket there for Mary.
Donnie Cheers is able to knock it in.
It's only the 4th point for Marian and now we've got a whistle and a foul on Donnie.
Cheers.
Create some things out in the perimeter.
Janelle final minute first quarter in Jonesboro is gonna go then she's like Jonesburg is gonna sub in James Blair as well as the Marion Wilson.
Wilson, who started the ball game for Jonesboro, been on the bench and so now he's back in the ball game.
You wanna go see how aggressive Jonesboro wants to be again and no shot clock.
Don't expect him to believe this down and I'm not wasting any time.
Shut up off the right side.
It's no good turning down the rebound is Marion will go with the bounce pass right in front of Jonesboro bench and we've got a whistle.
A foul.
Bow was on Jalen White or she may know that was on.
Jesse Washington of Jonesboro and so that'll send to the free throw line Jade Forest.
Now this is big RJ.
40 seconds left in the first quarter.
Marians at the moment if they, if they're aggressive enough, they've got a chance to really ship into this lead at the foul line in this first half.
Both look good.
With that being the case, I think you put your head down.
He tried to attack the basket every possession.
Just try to pick up a foul.
It's easiest way to come back from 19 down to get those freebies.
Makes both and, so it's 23 to six with 40 seconds playing the first quarter.
Plus, if you attack the basket like that, you're going to continue to slow, continuously, slow down the game just because you're constantly at the foul line.
Grillworks it with 22 seconds.
Looking back over lot Todd side to Tillman over to Blair.
Now we've got a whistle and a foul.
AL's gonna be charged to Jayden force.
And that is his second personal foul.
Go files already combined this first quarter.
Doesn't have a huge impact on the game right now, but second half just pace continues.
Those fouls continue to tick up.
It'll be a bench game Z inbound and Wilson.
7 seconds.
Another time over 4 seconds.
We go up with the right hand.
It's short and that'll do it for the first quarter of play.
So the Jonesboro hurricane, they jump out to a big lead in the first quarter as they lead Marion 23 to 6 you're watching the Centennial Bank State Basketball championships on Arkansas.

RJ is loving it.
You know, I did actually stop and kind of Egg Mcmuffin this morning on the way to Hot Springs.
You're not doing a mcgriddle, you're doing it wrong.
Those are good too.
Here we go back to action.
Here in the five A state championship game, as forced as it on the left side.
Swing it back right side into the hands of the new player that just checked in.
That's very in love and that's 23 to 8 love averages.
14 points a game.
Find a way to get Hegan forced involved 3 point attempt by Jonesboro and it's off the iron.
No good.
Who's going to come out with it?
It's Marion.
Here they come out of the weeds on that one, doing Bobby Matrix crowd starting to get a little more involved as well.
They were taking out early bucket here.
Maybe you get him back in it as the shots go.
Good for the win.
They kick it back left side that's into the hands of love.
He shoots it for three no good and rebounds pulled him by Jonesboro.
Been moving along.
We've got a list on a foul.
Tried to take the charge there, but defensively Zion Parnell didn't get set.
He's already falling backwards.
As soon as the office player made the attack, and that's an easy flop call with two free throws coming for Jonesboro.
Yvonne Pointer at the free throw line averaging 6 points a game with five rebounds a game.
Mr. Grinder, I mean he's put together well, misses the first free throw.
He's the guy that's going to do The Dirty work, though offensively, defensively, all the block.
Those are the players you need.
If you ever make a big run.
That's in the air good.
Second quarter the five A state championship game as Ryan forced has it into the frontcourt.
Horse works it in the lane with the right hand too hard coming down with its Marion.
Swing things back out.
Top of the key and get over the love.
I've worked for back right side the forest.
A lot of time left in this contest, but if you're married you could find some way to get this to 10, maybe 12.
Going into the half.
Feel pretty good about yourself considering you're down 21 to 12 to start.
I threw up top of the key goes Marion.
Back to love.
Now with this Parnell.
Jonesboro doesn't like the wife of their slowing it down, but if you're if you're married, you want to set the best possible shot.
You can't take advantage that you don't have a shot clock right now.
They had success the last time they played by slowing it down, go back to that recipe.
It will be up tempo pace in the first quarter and a half is not to their favor.
Did the ball the Forest Hill was back towards his head coach David Clark to get a call.
Jonesboro crowd may not love it, but we believe enough minutes at a time which plays into the hands of Jonesboro.
Who's up 16, here's a shot and they will knock it down with the right hand.
How is Darian loved?
And going up with an attempt for Jonesboro was Williams and coming out with it with it.
As Jonesboro as Ryan Forrest comes down with it, but then lost the handle on it.
And Jonesboro got right back.
Now here's Joan, throw in the rain, gets it off over the right side.
The Cave on pointers, able to knock it off the glass that they 2610 lead great Pass.
There are Jada showed the patients in the land enforce anything allowed the defense to collapse dish off easy bucket.
Now with the basketball is Jaylen White.
We're gonna download into the hands of Burgess.
He puts up the shot.
It's no good we got a whistle a foul it's gonna send Jonesboro to the loud or frustration foul there by the freshman Burgess.
Missed the chippy didn't use the window, picks up the foul on the other end and now we walked 94 feet for a free throw.
Yeah.
For Jonesboro, John Paul Pickens.
He looks like he could play linebacker on the Jonesboro football team.
Big strong kid.
Free throw line.
Made shots too hard gets his own rebound though.
Works it back right side into the hands of a cutting keyon Williams and they get two points out of it.
Either way, most free throw you gotta take advantage of that if you're marrying, but you up the offensive board and Keyon Williams shows why he's going to play at the Division One level strong finish in the lane.
Right side.
Into the hands of love now back top the key.
They work top Cornell.
Love, they're just going back and forth.
They're gonna slow things back down as we're down to 405 left here in the second quarter.
Love no excuse me, that's out the Buckingham.
He put the shots no good balls on the floor who's going to come up with it?
It's Jonesboro we've got a whistle and a jump ball.
Carol is going to be the Marion after the media timeout, things starting to get a little testy little physical down low.
So checking in the ball game for Jonesboro is going to be Phillip Tillman.
And now we've got a whistle and a media timeout 28 to 10 with 355 to play here in the second quarter, you're watching the Centennial Bank State Basketball Championships on Arkansas.

No, I always just go back to hear what you had to say.
'cause I wasn't reading sometimes.
'cause we're back to action here at Bank Ozk Arena where Jonesboro's got the ball John Williams in the rain and he'll have a tie up.
And now we gotta travel.
That's a break for Mary and I thought that was going to be a time possession, but they keep the arrow and get the basketball.
Full Court press is on by Jonesboro.
With the basketball for the Patriots will be Buckingham.
Get it in the front court.
Slowing down the pace of this one.
Grind this one down.
Squad #2 minutes.
They'll have the Patriots turn it over.
And good job by Buckingham, you know Buckingham is A is a young kid kid.
He's only a freshman, but just the basketball IQ to be able to to once he knows the ball is going to be deflected and just let it roll out of bounds is you don't see a lot of kids that would just let that thing roll out of bounds.
He pick it up and try to take it back up chords.
Yeah, exactly right.
He was going to be a turnover and he left the ball roll out of bounds.
Either way, if you touch it, this immediately blown dead.
You'd allow your defense to get back and set up, but more importantly.
You don't don't give up an easy bucket.
Little time out on the floor 28 to 10 Jonesboro leads Marion.
As big crowds flowing in here, the hot spring you think about Bobby.
This is really the first time we've really had to been able to have full on crowds for these championships.
That's good to see.
And of course, jonesboro's been here all day.
Girls played in the contest against Greenwood.
That one didn't go their way, marrying a nice showing all of eastern Arkansas made their way up next.

Don't grow with basketball as Wilson has it.
It's gonna work it around the perimeter.
I was like you're down in the hands of key on William.
Back to the way we got a whistle.
Count the bucket and headed to the free throw line to shoot one is James Blair.
What a great strong take by James Blair gets the pass cutting to the bucket.
No it's gonna be some contact able to maintain possession.
The strong finish chance of the old fashioned 3 point play.
Siri that was a shot Arkansas the rim but offense rebound by Jonesboro and so working right side for three minutes.
Buckets that was right from our vantage point.
Our J and that would look good as soon as it left his hand you give up an offensive rebound on a free throw and it cost you 3 points and crosscourt pass.
There's a foul that time the foul is going to be assessed to Phillip Tillman for Jonesboro.
In the double bonus, so he'll head to the free throw line to shoot 2.
You keep thinking to yourself.
OK, what's Marion got to do to get back in this basketball game?
We're not making those simple plays as simple as an offensive rebound on Innisfree through taking advantage of a turnover.
Come down, you do hit the free throw there.
It's the little things right now.
We're all going Jonesboro way.
And that's why the team that's ranked in the top 30 in the country.
He's got a 22 point advantage.
Second shots good.
And Jonesboro will have it with 2:30 to play here in the second quarter.
Wilson with the basketball.
Left side into the hands of Tillman.
Holding it as time winds with 2:15 and counting.
Now, here's the three by Dillman.
It's off the front of the iron no good and rebounds pulled in by Marion is that's Ryan Forest make 2 minutes here for Mary and not try to make a little bit of a push here before the half horse takes himself, gets his own rebound, puts it back up.
It's good.
Let's start fine.
I gotta find a way for Lion Forest to get more involved.
Forest averaging 19 points a game.
So far now here is Jonesboro with Wilson.
Wilson spin move at the free throw line, then kicks it back else 102 to play here in the second quarter.
Working the basketball left side goes Blair, now top of the key over to William.
Tillman back right side in the lane.
That's Blair.
He rattles it home.
Blair's been a nice little spark coming coming in the last few minutes.
Gets to the bucket and the foul earlier in that little floater in the lane.
Let Bill go percentage right there 61.9% for Jonesboro, 33 from Marion to the lane.
Really, anytime they want to three of six from deep 10 to 15 inside the Ark.
We're minute to play here in the first half.
Here's a 3 point attempt by fours off the side of the backboard.
No good, we're gonna whistle foul by porch, just the frustration foul there.
For forest.
Create something after the missed shot or game will walk to the other end for free throws.
Period.
So at the free throw line for Jonesboro is gonna be cave on pointer.
Chu owner on the day.
Is one of two now making one of three.
I'm a 40 seconds to play in the first half.
It's that on the screen.
Maybe the only thing that Jonesboro hasn't done well today it's free throws.
Still, on the 25 seconds, I would imagine Marian probably try to hold for the last shot.
When you it's gotta be aggressive.
Yeah, we struggled to get good luck.
So if it was one comes open, you take it.
If not, make sure you do get take the final shot down to 10 seconds remaining here in the first half.
Pressure comes down pants left side to Buckingham for 3:00 is way off.
The mark has taken for the half court shot.
It's no good and we're at halftime.
3514 Jonesboro.
They lead Mary into the five A state championship game and you're watching this at Daniel Bank State Basketball championships in Arkansas.

The five A state championships on the line is Jonesboro leads, Marion 3514.
I March hawk, along with Bobby Swofford and Bobby Jonesboro, did exactly and what they what they've done to a lot of people this year.
They get out.
They get to an early lead and really make you.
Make mistakes, it started with the opening, possession or during the opening tip Jonesboro controls.
It gets an easy layup.
Next possession, defensive steel, wide open, one handed, Tomahawk dunk and now they're off to the races.
I mean it.
It's the simple things Jonesboro shooting 62% in this game now because they've been on fire because they've been getting easy shots in the lane just like that one.
They've been able to do whatever they wanted to do offensively and doesn't matter what Marians tried defensively.
They haven't been able to slow down the hurricane well, and I think the big thing in this game is the 11th.
Turnovers that Marian had there in the first half.
Yeah, and you look at the turnovers and the points off of turnovers.
11 turnovers, 19 points, so those are live ball turnovers that are leading to easy buckets and anytime the discrepancy of points off turnovers is 19 to 0.
You know the game is going to be tilted one side and that's why Mary Ann finds themselves on a 3 touchdown whole beyond Buford Wesson.
He leads all scorers for Jonesboro with 10 and leading the way his love for Marion here in the first half.
Well, we're at the half where Jonesboro they lead at 35 to 14 over Mary and we are going to pitch it to our halftime show.
And when we come back, we'll have second half action.

It's a kind.
Sure.
What's a kite runner?
Oh well, the science of flight is quite an uplifting science.
Any kite can fly as long as it's working with forces.
A force is something that will push or pull them are saying can you help us show our friends what we mean?
Ready to fly great so force number one is lift and that is the air that pushes your kite into the sky force #2 is gravity and that pulls your kite back down to the earth force #3 is drag and that's what's pulls your kite through the wind force.
#4 is tension and that's you pulling on the string to keep your kite from flying away.
And all of these work together to make your kite fly when you go to fly your kite.
Remember to get a running start.
You want the wind to catch your kite so like high in the air with all the forces working together, your kite will soar as long as you have the forces you should be ready for liftoff.

We are the electric cooperatives of Arkansas power and people.
Both teams are making their way back onto the floor here at Bank Ozk Arena as Jonesboro elites at 3514.
Let's take a look at some stats from the first half and get you set for the second half.
Bobby in the first half, Jonesboro shot 62% for the game Marion just under 30 and the numbers at the bottom of your screen the next to last 11 turnovers led to 19 points and that leads to a lot of that field goal percentage that you just mentioned RJ a lot of easy buckets in transition.
A lot of easy shots dalene if you're shooting 62%, you got a pretty good chance of taking home a 5A state championship.
Yeah, that usually the higher you shoot, the better off right?
I mean, that's how that works, right?
It really is so 3514 hours.
Halftime score is.
Cox about to go off body if you.
If you're marrying you, go to the locker room.
What are you talking about?
Did you try to?
I know we've said so many times gotta slow it down but there's so much more that goes into it that to overcome this lead, yeah you just got to chip away.
I mean there there are no 15 pulling shots out there.
I mean you don't get 20 points.
You make a two handed dunk.
I mean you've just got to chip it away.
You get and it starts on the defensive end.
You can't give up a team, let you 62% take care of the basketball, get stops.
And that's where you're gonna be able to start to this kind of crawl back into this game doesn't have to be one giant run.
You get to it till about 12.
Here in the third quarter and then you got a chance in the final eight minutes.
Well, Marion will have the basketball as we start the second half as we will work from left to right of your TV.
And we're just on our way here in the second half.
Cheers, will have it.
Just give it off to force that meeting being the jadan force of the two.
Quebec right side into the hands of Burgess Hill.
Pull up from 8 feet away.
It's no good balls gonna go out of bounds.
No got saved by Marian.
What an athletic play by Ryan.
Forced to save it in.
And now we've got a whistle and an offensive foul, and that'll be charged to Donnie cheers.
Yeah, I like the aggressiveness, but defender was set.
They forced the turnover.
The previous years.
I mean, we've got a slate of games tonight that are sure to impress as both North Little Rock teams will be here tonight.
Then you've got a Bentonville team.
Fire and a north side thing who's playing really well as there's a shot and misses.
Rebound was taken by Jonesboro, then we've got a whistle on foul against Mary and I'm really looking forward to that boys contest tonight.
Of course, we all know how north little rocks loaded with superstars.
Kind of like this.
Jonesboro team is Smithfield.
Oh, when all three games last week at the state turn about 20 plus they got a chance if they play well in north.
Little Rock's not on their a game.
We could have a good one inbound pass comes.
Two key on Williams who's fouled in that time.
The foul is going to be on Dante more so close to 20 personal fouls, and at first half kind of picking up where we left off.
Again, Marion's gotta find a way to take advantage, but giving up too many extra chances on this end.
Handed off to Wilson.
This is gonna back things out.
Have a mismatch of height right now between Marion and Wilson.
Look for Marion that's Burgess taking on Wilson and just the size differential is not there and we've got a whistle.
Possession the alternating arrow, but just keep it on this end.
I'm not not much flow to this first minutes of the third quarter.
It wouldn't really much flow in the whole first half.
There are a lot of stoppages Jonesboro jumped out to the big league.
They had the two flagrant fouls and kind of they kind of ugly.
Did up with two teams a lot of fouls, a lot of lot of turnovers, a lot of whistles.
The first game just flew by first quarter took like 8-9 nine minutes of the whole first quarter and now not so much here balls.
The flood your way off the inbound and in the backcourt.
2 girls got it.
They'll kick in the left side now working it back.
Download deflected taking it again.
Now here comes Jonesboro knocking it down his Washington he misses coming back top the key over to Wesson for three it's no good and finally a defensive rebound by Marian.
Nice job to sky for that board.
The freshman Terry Ann Burgess.
Horse with the basketball.
You see the team rebounds even right there at 13 apiece.
Here's a deep three and it's off the back of the iron.
No good coming down with an offensive rebound was Burgess.
He misses, puts it back up again, offensive rebound once again as coming down with it was forced.
It's no good.
And now jonesboro's got it.
Sequence is the epitome of this game.
RJ Jones rose making shots in the lane Marion's not and not a basket.
Big move in the lane, fingertip, roll ball goes and headed to the free throw line to shoot his key on Williams.
I want an athletic play by Williams defender was Dean to not be set against the friendly role and now chance at the foul line converts for three point play.
Now we've got whistles and a stoppage.
We're looking over the scores table.
Darian Love checked in the ball game for Marion.
I gotta go.
I guess all is well is put the ball back in play.
Worst with it on the wing down to the corner it off to Jayden Forest and he's fouled after he tried to shoot that one in.
He'll head to the free throw line to shoot too little, too aggressive on the clothes out like the hand in the face, but didn't allow force any room to land.
And I don't have the foul line chance to try to heat his game up.
Free throws good.
Here today now 5 for five in Team Free throws.
So I think it's good as well.
Now checking in for Mary Ann is going to be Zion, Cornell.
Just going to turn up the pressure now.
Maybe I'll try to force some turnovers.
Of course this is going to speed the game up and give Jonesboro a chance to run.
Working quickly is Wilson and back.
Everything back out to the midcourt stripe.
John's brother traditionally likes to run up and down.
I mean no point getting in a hurry here.
Here's Wilson fadeaway jumper from the left side.
It's good and they've reached the 40 mark with 526 to play in the third already scored more in this contest and they did the entire last time they met.
Jonesboro could afford to be patient on each possession.
Now is the clock is certainly there friend with 24 point lead in 15 min to game time left.
Burgess now works the left side on the low block goes over the shot.
No good coming down with the rebound is Jonesboro.
Here's Wesson to the free throw line euro step with the right hand and it's good.
Little bit of a continuation there, but the chance for another 3 point play for Jonesboro and you could just see how well they run the fast break once they get out, they've got numbers.
He takes it even step, avoids significant contact and just enough to draw the foul.
And here it is.
Buford Weston got a chance for the three point play.
And it's good.
It's now 43 to 16.
We're under 5 to play in the third.
No.
Jesse Lou.
I'd really like to see at North Little Rock Jonesboro match up at this point in the season and see what that one looked like.
'cause that game was earlier in the year.
Talking about two teams that they're only lossless to each other in the state of Arkansas elite talent.
No coincidence that they're playing in their respective championship games.
Elevator, elevator, elevator, elevator, inbound pass comes over to forest.
He's on the wing.
Or somehow managed not to travel as they kick the ball.
Left side Ball was short and rebounds taking him by Jonesboro.
Now here comes Hubert Wesson in a lane with the left hand is able to get it off the glass point just to speed the Western showed right there it's just too easy.
Nobody stopped at basketball he just goes all the way to the 10:00 with the easy layin and this has got a chance to really get out of hands.
Work it back for three on the wing.
It's no good by Jade Forest.
You'll have to close.
Got it.
How fast the left side over the pointer now at the free throw line knocking it down is Washington.
Carter shooting percentage might go down in the second half, but Jonesboro actually making it better 62%.
They've got a 31 advantage.
Jonesboro none I know.
Run over the last minute 48 and made their last five shots.
The basketball up.
The key is forced.
He'll be in the lane, goes up with it, and he's fouled.
Just having a grind it out and that's one thing I saw with North Little Rock last week.
Two RJ.
We've talked about how good that team is.
Jonesboro knows what they need to turn it on.
Defensively.
They make things so difficult for you on that end of the floor 'cause you can't get a bucket to stop these big runs.
Well, we've got a media timeout with 305 to play in the third Jonesboro leads at 47 to 16 and you're watching the Centennial Bank State Basketball championships in Arkansas.

Ed Leon.
I know he's watching right now, but he was the mastermind behind the the camera that is floating around this arena that that that gives the the hazy background.
Even know what that thing.
Yeah, look at that.
Yeah, I love that thing.
That would be the epitome of high definition.
I don't know what that's called.
That's too far within tech tech terms that I don't know, but it it's called awesome, yeah?
Yeah, I gotta stop at your place.
I think the little blood for Ryan Forest for Marion, so they're tending to him over near the bench.
By the way, on that camera that the shot.
We gotta give a shout at the end.
The game for the guy that runs that thing, 'cause it.
It weighs about 15 pounds and he's having a there's.
There's another shot of it.
Great view.
Yeah, he, he's toting that thing around.
It weighs like 15 pounds.
OK, at the free throw line for Marion is Jayden Forrest.
Borest on the day.
Got four points and he's now 5 for five at the free throw line.
I'm gonna find a way to close this out in Jonesboro if you're here in the third quarter, these final three minutes should keep the foot on the pedal and had a chance to coast in the final eight.
You're marrying, you gotta start over.
Find some way to chip away, chip away.
There's a 3 point attempt on the right side.
It's too hard offensive.
Rebound by Jonesboro, offensive rebounds in this ball game, Marians had nine and that was the 8th one for Jonesboro.
It's like a chance points to the difference.
Here's a drive and a foul.
You count the bucket and headed to the free throw line.
Will be a. Maureen Wilson.
They wiped it off already.
They yeah, they they said that he was set called the offer to foul.
There's that I saw the official underneath the bucket, he he, he dabs in like it was good, so they overturned it.
Now Marion's got the basketball.
One of the few calls that Marian Tasco away, but that was a good one.
There's a cut down low and a bucket for Marion is knocking it down.
That time was Lindale Buckingham.
Back the other way we go and a nice tip in Vibe, Jonesboro, the Varian Montgomery Nice job by the junior, the six foot four forward will tip up get some self re bucket.
Mark gay.
Being methodical is Marion.
Turned it over.
Here's Williams right side.
That'll be the third intentional foul of the ball game.
Gotta make a play at the basketball.
That's just sheer frustration for Marion.
I don't want to give up the highlight reel, don't just go ahead and give up the intentional.
Cuban Williams he almost made it, Sir.
Everything's good.
Talks about Keon Williams, Jonesboro.
He's already signed with Oklahoma State.
Will be playing for the Cowboys next year, getting a good one.
A strong player inside and you're starting to see more of these combo guard 6465 that can finish in the lane.
Take the contacts.
He's an impressive player and he he has the look of a Big 12 basketball player to strong physical.
Best basketball, certainly ahead of him.
Minute 49 to play here in the 3rd.
50 to 20 is our scores.
They get it into William.
Yeah, yeah.
Girl backs it out as Wilson has it.
Then move free, throw line, then kicks it back and goes into the hands of Kelly.
He lost the handle on it.
Marion comes up with him.
And we've got an offer to foul and it's good job defensively just to get set by Marian Wilson takes the hit, forcing the turnover holes on Dante more.
Growing up and for.
I said it was on daunting mortar.
Actually calling it on forest and that's his third.
There's Williams into the frontcourt Williams free throw line, lost the handle he's found therein, certainly run extra defenders at the basketball and hold two aggressive and now Jonesboro is in the bonus.
Personal file at the line for Jonesboro #0 Key on Williams.
And Ball was deflected.
Almost went back in and coming down with it.
With Burgess for Marion and now the ball is going to go out of bounds and go back to Jonesboro.
Checking in the ball game for Jonesboro.
Is going to be Isaac Carol?
68 Forward Junior who's Harold, which time we've seen him today.
All the skydain over 2.
They're big man, Donny cheers.
Excuse me.
No, that's actually Tillman.
I'm in it to play here in the third Tillman, in the lane, like kicking back out.
Now, here's Harold.
He puts up the shot.
It's no good.
Rebound pulled in by Marian and quickly take it in the front court.
Going up a shot is Cornell.
It's no good coming down with it.
He's gonna come up with it.
We've got a whistle and a foul against Jonesboro.
Fellow shippers here.
Used Deion Buford is the one that was called with the personal foul.
That's his third.
And they got $14.00 right now.
Look at the numbers and there's nothing going to waste 15 turnovers.
Only 27 shots attempted.
There's nothing coming easy for the Patriots.
Looking left side we're getting off at the foul.
Get it moving screen on Dante more.
Now, Jonesboro, if they choose, can hold for the final possession.
Also invoked the Activities Association sportsmanship.
So down to 13 seconds.
It's the basketball Buford but it won't.
Under 2 seconds he's gonna take a half court shot and it's no good and we head to the fourth quarter.
We're Jonesboro, they lead the 5A Championship 30 to 20 and you're watching the Centennial Bank State Basketball championships in Arkansas.

So ball goes out of bounds foul.
Anything will continue to run, but for Mary and they still got a fourth quarter to play in a state championship as Parnell's got it.
They'll work it back to him over on the left wing.
Burgess at the free throw line knocks it down.
It's like getting our first look at bigger Marion Jefferson, the 6:10 Center for the Patriots.
Logan Lowe Big Kid Williams, Crosscourt Pass as he'll get into the hands of Wilson.
Orbit left side.
Swing it around the perimeter.
Down to Williams, he's able to.
Coming right up to him.
Yeah, he was undercutting everybody.
And well, that's how we did.
Yeah, there's your shot.
That kid right there, you know.
Marion Jefferson is a large human 610 and a senior.
Williams West Swifton company.
Certainly gonna miss Keyon Williams when he graduates he planted Oklahoma State and he's he came to play today.
13 points, 4 rebounds.
Knocks down both those free throws.
That's the balance of Jonesboro Buford Western with 1514 for Williams.
No one guy that stirs the drink for Jonesboro.
They get it done as a unit.
Marion with the basketballs.
They work at left side.
As Forrest has it.
Don't pass down low.
We've got a whistle and a foul that time gonna be charged to John Paul picking.
Start the filler material RJ, but this is going to be back to back titles for Jonesboro in about what half a dozen or for West lift or so we pointed.
Attempt and it's no good rebound.
Pulled in by Mary.
No, you know, West Swift is that he and Johnny Rice are two guys that you almost look forward to seeing every year in the state championships they they've had.
Some outstanding programs over the years and well coached, well discipline on all aspects of all aspects of basketball.
Here's Williams right hand and we've got a whistle foul.
You know, next year we'll have the chance to to possibly see in North Little Rock Jonesboro state finalists.
The hurricane making the move up the largest classification thanks to the new private school rules, they're going to allow a lot of shifting.
To be honest, the classifications that you know right now.
You're used to your teams playing in a certain league classification are certainly going to change, and all sports next year there's going to be a lot of moving up and down.
Really kind of weird because you know what?
For the last four years has a damn four or five years.
You kind of get used to who plays in what, what conference and and you you kind of develop a with the muscle memory of where they are and now you got to go back and go OK, who's in what conference?
You're completely have to relearn your conferences and your rivals and everything and you know it's gone are the days of the A-Team conference.
Doesn't have to be exactly 8 teams anymore.
Football is going to be different than basketball.
I don't know which is.
It's going to be a sport by sport then.
Kind of level the playing field, then move in the lane.
Nice move that time by Donny cheers.
Define cheers.
Throw the ball away and that'll take us under 4 minutes and that'll take us to a media timeout 353 to play here in the ball game is Jonesboro leads at 5524 and you're watching the Centennial Bank State basketball championships in Arkansas.
PBS sports.
It's natural to begin serving with our kids safety, but when they're riding the school bus, we shouldn't have to be illegally passing.
A school bus puts our children's lives at risk.
That's why Everett is joining area schools to promote the flashing red kids ahead safety program.

Remember flashing red kids ahead?
Hands up, hands up, hands up, hands up, hands Up, hands up.
Let me see you let me see your bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce.
Thank here Bank Ozk Arena in Hot Springs as we are wrapping things up in the five A state championship game where Jonesboro leads at 55 to 24 with 353 to play here in the ball game.
Obvious Wolford Aymar Jayhawk big special shout out and thank you to smoking in style Barbecue 2278 Albert Pork Pike Road here in Hot Springs.
Providing food for the crew.
We are the sportsmanship rules you saw the graphic right there and.
When you get to that 30 point lead in the fourth quarter, the clock rolls continuously throughout the rest of the ball game.
Here's Marion with four three point attempt on the left wing and rebounds pulled in by Jonesboro.
We work it quickly into the frontcourt.
Pass or shoot me a crosscourt pass back left side.
Total rebounds in the game have been pretty close.
Marian actually leads in that category 2120.
Now here's the three from the right corner.
It's no good.
Ball is going to be deflected out of bounds and.
It will go with Marion 23 points off of the 18 turnovers for Jonesboro.
It's pretty efficient.
Function transition will come back to Earth a little bit as far as the field goal percentage is still above 50%.
We've done everything they need to do.
45 away from another title.
Jonesboro with basketball Pull it from the free throw line.
It's no good.
It'll be pulled in by Marian.
Tough day at the office for Marion.
Obviously a really good team 25 and 7.
Two of those losses to this Jonesboro squad just picked a bad day to have their worst day rebounds pulled in.
My Jonesboro is we're down to two minutes remaining in this one.
Here's the three point attempt, and it is no good by Jonesboro James Blair.
Working quickly goes Marion off the glass.
It's good and it was Donnie cheers that time.
And we've got a timeout charge to Marion with a minute 49 to play here in the championship game.
Substitution timeout chance to empty dimensions, and.
The 15 invaluable moment here chance to get on the floor for a title game for everybody on your roster.
Yeah, there's gonna be a lot of new faces on the floor and you know, like from West Swift.
I was talking to him about this.
You know, Jonesboro, yeah they were here last year, but all the other teams were they won or lost.
You get the opportunity to get some of those young guys in.
They remembered.
So if you come back the next year they've got a little bit of experience.
Says here's a.
Well, it's going to be a trying alley oop that did not go and it was the various mcgommery who tried to lay that one in some areas got the basketball.
You look at what's ahead for these squads, and it's going to be a new roster next year, at least for a majority of it.
Washington Williams Wilson all going to be gone for Jonesboro, but I don't think anybody's going to feel sorry for West Swift and company.
They'll just reload like they always do.
If the down court pass for Jonesboro and go put up the shot, it's no good and the rebound pulled in by Marian.
Under a minute to play as a right hand went off the glass for the Patriots.
And knocking that one down with Ryan Forrest with 51.9 seconds to play and Jonesboro leads at 55 to 28.
Coach Swift talking to his to his reserves, saying hey, finish this game the right way.
It doesn't matter this games in hand doesn't matter.
They're a minute away from the state championship.
He wasn't there to play it the right way.
Play it the way their program has been built, and that's how you lay the foundation for the future.
You set the tone no matter what the score is.
Leave it on the floor.
Coffee.
Well, here's an inbound pass for Jonesboro, working the ball up before the hurricane is Terrence Brown and they will go out of bounds with 38.9 seconds.
I don't wanna Start Stop the clock there it goes running the game.
It's muscle memory, yeah?
Looked over the clock keeper.
He he just kind of shrugged his shoulders 'cause he just used to stopping and when it goes out of bounds.
Now.
Blair it off over to Stacy.
Put up a 3 point shot.
It's no good.
Here comes Marion and he's fouled.
That'll probably do it, as there's 5 seconds.
Let's play a game.
Your 5A state champion, the Jonesboro hurricane, win at 55 to 28.
This will never in question from the opening tip to it immediately into a dunk on the second possession, the hurricane are celebrating with their student section, and they certainly earned this one in a dominant fashion.
West Swift is a champion once again, and we're going to take a break.
Jonesboro wins at 5528.
You're watching the Centennial Bank State Basketball championships on Arkansas.

And there are your 2022 champions, the Jonesboro hurricane.
They win at 55 to 28 over Marion declined to 5A State championship back here at Bank Ozk Arena and Hot Springs.
I'm watching Hawk along with Bobby Swofford and Bobby as you said on the outside of that one.
Never in question.
Never in question.
The better team came to play and they played better.
You know, Marian didn't play well.
Today they turned the basketball over.
They gave up two any easy buckets.
And you're playing a good team.
It's tough to win when you're playing an exceptional team like Jonesboro Scott.
You're gonna find yourself on the wrong everyone.
You know you start talking about MVP's and everything like that.
For Jonesboro.
You had Williams with 17, but Buford Weston had 15.
He had a heck of a ball game as well.
The balance for Jonesboro?
Sure, those two guys combined for 32 points with the rest of the guys, the glue guys, the guys who forced those turnovers have found ways to get easy buckets.
It was.
I mean, it really was a dominating performance.
You don't think of 55 points and.
Thinking team all day went out and dominated.
Jonesboro dominated.
Every facet of this contest.
Throw field goal percentage.
Jonesboro shot 48%.
Marion 29% from 3 point range Jonesboro.
Probably that's probably where they're always downfall in this game they were only three of 14 from the three point line.
Marion was oh for eight and at the free throw line.
Jonesboro was 12 of 19 for 63%.
Marion was eight of April 100% so all the things that you thought Marion needed to do to come in this game to have a chance.
To pull the upset, didn't get it done.
Jonesboro forced the turnovers and you hit the free throws you mentioned.
They they knocked that had a better 3 point percentage even though it wasn't maybe up to their bar.
It's just again total complete effort.
A total complete team and West Swift has got himself another championship ring coming to the trophy case.
We'll be talking with West Swift as well as today's MVP here, momentarily Bobby.
Who are you going to give your MVP to semeon Keyon Williams as they just announced his name?
I mean, he's the guy that does it.
They could score on the outside.
He can take you down the block.
Just a big physical garden.
Clearly he's a.
He's a Division One talent you're gonna be successful at the next level and almost unguardable at class 5A's level.
Yeah, he he is a good looking kid and he'll be playing in the Big 12 next year to Oklahoma State.
And he's your 2022 Class 5A Boys MVP and there's a shot at him in West Swift.
You know, West Swift is a super proud coach right now.
I mean, you put the season together, you put the schedule together.
Because of this, as they're making their way over here, I mean you build a resume.
You're trying to get to this moment as coach West Swiss walking our way.
I mean, they loaded up.
So now Coach is joining us now and coach just a dominant performance from the Get go.
You know you and I talked before the ball game about rebounding, but really you guys just played with a different tempo.
I thought we were really locked in defensively.
That's been the story of our team all year long.
I think this team is giving up coming into this game 41 points a game which is crazy with the schedule we played and they were locked in today, but the opening possession, the opening tip, at least for the layup.
Next possession steal dunk.
Last time they tried to slow you down, the first two possessions you obviously speeded up to beginning, you got to go game going your way.
The energy was really good.
The focus was really good.
Just we're senior laden team.
We got juniors that come off the bench that could start for most teams in the state.
We're inexperienced team.
We played like it today.
We'll let you go after this key on Williams.
I mean just a special player.
Indie 100% Oklahoma states get a great player.
We're so happy he came back and finished his career.
You know he was a kindergarten through 10th grade and then moved to Texas for two years and.
It's back now and and where where he got to play with Hay and Jesse and Kevon.
These are guys who played third and 4th grade with you know and stuff so it's really good for me to be back together.
Coach congratulations and we'll talk to you.
Maybe next year.
Sounds good.
Thank you, thank you.
Congratulations, that is West Swift, the head basketball coach at Jonesboro and he is.
He's a super happy guy right now.
Just dominant performance.
And he mentioned Keyon Williams, right there, going to Oklahoma State.
And I, I mean, you can see it.
I mean, he is really, really impressive.
What he does and coach Swift is built, a program that everybody is an envy of.
I mean, it's it's amazing what he was able to do as far as his program building it.
And we're and we're getting the MVP right now, and obviously it's a.
It's a huge accomplishment for this program in this school, Keyon Williams, I I tell you what you you look you dream about games like this I know you're going to play Division One basketball next year, but this had to be a special moment for you to to end your high school career.
Oh, there's a very very very very special moment.
'cause like I said at the last interview.
This is my first time ever going as far as the state and then also they are two people, so it's just a great experience over all the way through you look at this game, the opening tip set the tempo.
You guys clearly wanted to get up and down.
Run the floor, especially after they slowed it down.
After that 40 start you guys really seem like you locked in and settled in.
Yeah, I feel like we was locked in from practice yesterday.
We had a hard practice yesterday so we just translated to the game and we kept the momentum key and I was talking with your coach prior to you guys had a really tough nonconference schedule.
I mean you guys played.
Some of the best of the best all over the country.
How did that prepare you for this moment?
Practice.
We practicing hard.
You play hard.
Yeah, yeah well, hey best of luck to you at Oklahoma State we're we're looking forward to watching you and everything you do.
Yes, Sir, go pokes there he is.
There he is Keyon Williams as he is next.
Basketball stop will be at Oklahoma State, but today he is a 5A class state championship and Bobby just him talking to coach Swift talking about Kian and what he's meant to this team, actually coming back and.
And finishing out his career is pretty special.
Yeah, it's pretty impressive.
We take a look at the final stats on this one, and I mean he was a bigger reason why.
I mean, the stats are gonna tell the story.
I mean they didn't shoot 50% for the game, but 61% in the first half and the turnovers and the points off a turnover was really the difference.
And and you think of a team that wants to push the tempo like Jonesboro to play that kind of style and only turn it over.
7 * + 11 In that category.
I mean they they almost played flawless.
Lee, yeah it was a lot of fun to watch in Jonesboro.
Who are, by the way we've said it before.
They are the number 30th ranked team in America, according to maxpreps.com and so.
Not people in Arkansas, but around the country know how good this team is.
I mean, everybody talks about North Little Rock because they've got the two going to Arkansas and Oregon that team right there that they're in the conversation to be in the best team in in Arkansas and certainly in the South.
And, you know, you don't want talk history.
'cause I'm not.
I'm not a guy that says all they're the greatest ever to do it, but that team right there?
They're going to be remembered for what they did.
Because when you don't lose to anybody from your state, that's pretty impressive.
Well, the night cap is going to feature the six day classification in girls and boys action.
North Little Rock will take on north side and then Bentonville will take on the North Little Rock Boys team and I know there will be a lot of people here for both those games.
It's gonna be two really good games.
I had a chance to watch the entire six day state tournament last week and you know some people might question if they're the four best teams.
I don't think so.
I think the teams that were playing the best at the right time of the year are here and that and that both of those games got a chance to be special.
Don't forget all the action starts tonight at 6:00 o'clock.
You can watch all the games right here on Arkansas PBS sports, so everybody associated with Arkansas PBS.
