The schools have been named as 2023 National Blue Ribbon Schools for high performance and success and closing achievement gaps.
The five public schools are Potter Gray Elementary in Bowling Green, Cassidy Elementary and Fayette County, Farmington Elementary and Graves County, Russell High School, which is part of the Russell Independent School System and Drakes Creek Middle School in Warren County.
The two private schools are below Madonna, Madonna Academy Elementary School in the Diocese of Covington and St Xavier High School and the Archdiocese of Louisville.
The schools will be honored at a Washington, DC ceremony later this school year.
