It's the Arrowhead and some further west counties in northern Minnesota.
The criteria for entering the awards is that either it's the location it takes place in northeastern Minnesota.
Perhaps the characters are indicative of some of the culture of northeastern Minnesota.
As long as you're writing about our region as a committee, it's just fun to see what comes in and maybe find something that we'd like to read.
