Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship♪♪ Albert: Listen, it came along with our 100-year moment.
We were building our exhibition in the most important design museum in Switzerland.
And then Reiner approached us, the director of the film, Reiner Holzemer, and which we knew because he did the most important fashion films early, like Dries Van Noten and Margiela.
And we felt quite honored that he wanted to get to know about us and wanted to work for us.
Woman: I never thought of Switzerland as a bastion of fashion.
Certainly I think you could say that Akris is a quieter brand on the Paris schedule.
I think it's very important, first of all, to concentrate on the few independent brands that are still around in the fashion business.
That is the most important thing for me.
And then I think they are wonderful people doing wonderful work.
And this it's a brand with a long history.
That makes it very interesting for me, as well, because there's a history, a family history of 100 years and more already.
And I think that's exceptional.
Woman #2: I think the essence of Akris is touch, sensual and beautiful.
Peter: It's a natural process for us.
You know, we have been born into the family.
We have been born into the business.
We started our work in a very young age, through all the period of 35, 40 years.
We love what we do.
And, so, it's a natural process which should go forward.
Holzemer: It's like with an artist.
You look at the first drawing or painting or piece of music, and you realize 30 years later that it was all there from the very beginning.
And the same happened with Albert and Akris.
