Hi, my name is Domenicca Botero, the director and writer of Silver Waters, and this story is inspired by my granddad's passing and my coping with grief, specifically in the stage of denial.
If you're going through any sort of loss or you have gone through it, I hope it resonates with you.
And thank you for watching.
Mrs. Cruise, I'm so sorry for your loss.
I know exactly how you feel.
Oh, yes.
When my neighbor's cousin's daughter passed away, I was crushed.
Yes but it gets better, you know, just give it time.
How long were you married?
Mm, let us see.
Um.
Well, what year did you get married in?
1975.
That's 50 years.
Wow, the Gold Year.
How lovely.
That's really, really, really long time.
Are you all right?
Poor thing.
You know, when I was going through- [mari] Look, I, I have to leave.
[mateo] Where's Marisol?
[mateo] Mari.
Mari.
Marisol.
Marisol.
Marisol.
Definitely the crew.
Everyone had a great attitude and was really willing to help.
I think definitely at the end when people see it and tell me that they wanna call their grandparents or their parents afterwards, that's the best feeling, 'cause that's exactly what I wanted people to get out of this.
Hello, my name is Maytee Diaz, and I'm the writer and director for the film "Sacrilegio".
It is a film about love and sacrifice.
Thank you for watching and I hope you enjoy.
Photos.
I love you too.
[friend] How are things with your father?
The same.
Still, I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if I don't find him some help soon.
You know, darling, you're so good looking.
You can make a lot of money and I can help you.
What are you talking about?
[friend] Look, I've been thinking about this for a while, but I didn't know how you'd react.
To what.
There are men who would pay a lot of money to spend time with you.
Just think of it like dating rich guys and getting something for your time.
Don't ever mention that to me again.
That's not who I am.
I know, but as a last option.
I'm just saying, I can make a call to a friend and you'd have money fast.
Come on, we need to finish.
[friend] Wait, I brought you something.
Why?
I don't understand.
You need a distraction.
This will take your mind off everything you've been dealing with.
Nani, look, cataracts are curable, so you're not hopeless.
I know you're gonna, with your effort, you're gonna put that money together.
I believe in you.
Come here.
If anything happens, you'll let me know, okay.
Keep an eye on him.
Look down.
If I looks like you, I wouldn't hesitate.
You don't wanna reach my age and still be scrubbing floors.
And what about your father?
He'd be so disappointed.
[friend] Even if you're doing it for him.
Especially if that is the reason.
It's just sex, babe.
I'm sure you've been with guys you didn't love or even like and still enjoyed it.
I haven't been with anyone.
Are you serious?
You're a virgin.
Maybe this isn't such a good idea after all.
It's not.
But I have no other choice, okay.
So come on.
Before he wakes up, let's do it.
I personally enjoy character dream stories.
I was brainstorming ways of for the character to make tough choices.
I would say that my film is thought provoking and it is sentimental and moving.
