Pastor, thank you for allowing us to come and film Alabama Gospel Roots from here.
- It's an honor to be able to house this thing and be a part of it to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.
- That's what I'm talking about.
And somewhere along the way, you were told, I could hear it, that this wonderful place here is gonna be just published throughout the world and we are part of that journey.
- Amen.
- Amen.
How long have you been pastor here?
- In this building, two years.
We've been a church organized together for six.
- Okay, I understand there was another church right out front.
- Yes, sir.
The old Locust Fork Church of God.
They had some water damage and issues in there and they had to tear the building.
And because of them and the old timers and the road that they paved, we were able to be a part of this and come into this building and have what we have.
- That is awesome.
I just feel like coming back sometime even when the show is not going on.
Would that be all right?
- Praise God together.
- Oh, that's what I'm talking about.
Now tell me as we get ready to close this out, your concept of what the church should be, the model that we get the message out.
Tell me how it should interact with the people, particularly in this season.
- Well, I'll tell you, people need a family.
And the New Testament Church, when they came together, they came together daily.
They met together daily.
The Bible says that nothing was their own.
They gave to each other.
They shared with each other.
They were loyal to one another.
They spread the gospel.
They did the great commission call.
And I believe we are the generation that's gonna close up this great commission call that Jesus has commissioned us all to do.
To go into all the world to make disciples of people, to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, to speak another tongues, cast out devils, and lay hands on the sick and see them recover.
So when we're here, we're a family.
We believe in family.
And so we try our very best to have the goal that Jesus set in for us to be a family and to be a true New Testament Church.
- Amen.
Well, you know what?
People probably saw me looking around.
I was looking for a chair.
I was gonna go sit down and just let you have it all.
- Hey, you don't give a pastor a microphone.
I go to preaching anything.
- You did an excellent job.
Now, tell me the last thing.
How did you come upon the name of the church?
- Home for the Lost, the Lord named the church.
- A Home for the Lost.
- And that's what the Lord spoke.
We are home for the lost.
- Well, that's the most unique name I've found since I've been going around.
Pastor Chip Belcher, thank you so much.
- Thank you.
- For being with us and allowing us again to come.
