I'm telling you, we're excited to be just amongst great people.
Let me tell you, this is the time where we have an opportunity to say hello to some great cities, great Alabamians, and some nursing homes and some rehabilitation centers.
Then we're gonna culminate this thing with a salute to some Golden Vessels.

Weaver, Alabama, hello to you.
And this is a new place here, Underwood Petersfield, about 3049 people down there, and we wanna say hello to you.
Sunshine, Alabama, I don't know how many people you got in town, but there's some beautiful people.

Ryland, yes indeed, we called your name on "Alabama Gospel Roots", and when you go around town, say, "Hey, I was watching 'Alabama Gospel Roots', and they called our name."
Silverhill, Alabama, wow, hello to you.
We certainly do appreciate all you great Alabamians, great state, one of the greatest states in the whole world.
Matter of fact, I think we're right at number one.
There you go, all right time, nursing homes and rehab centers.
Hartford Healthcare Center in Hartford, Alabama, hello to you.
Cleveland County Nursing Home in Healthland, Alabama.
Hartford Health and Rehab Center in Huntsville, Alabama, and Jacksonville, Alabama, we have Jacksonville Health and Rehabilitation Center.
And then in Lineville, Lineville Health and Rehab Center.
Like I say to all of our friends in the nursing homes, you know, keep moving, don't stay in the bed all day.
If you can get up, get up, exercise, enjoy yourselves, and follow those instructions.
I know how hard it is.
You've been instructing people all your life, and now somebody's instructing you, but you can do it, and it's gonna be good for everybody.
Now let's turn over here and say hello, and salute our Golden Vessel for this evening.
Our Golden Vessel, we got a husband and wife team, the Reverend PS Jenkins and Mrs. Christine Crooks Jenkins.
And they've been, they were married November 8th, 1959, so they'll be married 66 years this year.
Wow, congratulations Sister Jenkins, you've done a wonderful job keeping the reverend in shape.
They got eight children, and they live in Gainesville, Alabama.
Yes, he's a pastor of the Oak Grove Baptist Church in York, Alabama.
He did some study at Selma University, and he worked at Mutual Savings Life Insurance Company for over 30 years before retiring.
So tonight our Golden Vessel salute, I'm proud to say, Reverend PS Jenkins, and Mrs. Christine Crooks Jenkins, we love you very much, and thank you for being a supporter of "Alabama Gospel Roots", and the whole show is dedicated to you.

- I'm good, how are you doing?
- I'm telling you, you look like a fashionista tonight.

- So you have to do all the singing, okay?
Listen, how've you been?
- I'm great, wonderful.
- Great, I saw a thing on social media, looked like you were traveling, and doing something that looked exciting.
- I do quite a bit of traveling, I do these treats, and I have been doing a lot of script writing, I script write for an awards show.
And now I started a new radio program, and I'm just, I'm writing all the scripts for it.
It's exciting, it's fun.
So just kinda jumping outta my comfort zone a little bit, doing some extra stuff.
- You enjoy it, right?
Every bit of it.
- Every bit of it, love it.
- So you still doing some song writing, too?
- Still doing some writing, and you know, as much as I can, in the middle of all this other stuff I'm doing.
- That's right, just enjoy it, you know?
We're not gonna rust out, we'll have to give out, but we're not gonna rust out.
- That's right, that's right.
Take every day that I wake up, it's another day to keep going.
- I agree.
- Let's just keep going.
- Now, where are you from?
- I'm from Woodstock, Illinois.
- Right, right, right.
And you were supposed to go fishing or something.
- We were supposed to go fishing, we were supposed to come down to the lake, we were gonna go to the Flats, and see what we catch.
- That's what I'm talking about, it's not too late.
- No it's not, it's early spring, let's go.
- All right, we'll do that.
- Well get them, and bring them bass, that we'll all be holding, yeah.
(laughing) - Hey look, it's.

- We're from Andalusia, Alabama.
- Mm-hmm, Andalusia.
(pastor speaking inaudibly) - Oh, so you are husband and wife?
- Yes.
- Oh, no wonder you're telling him what to do.
"No, this is how we're gonna do this."
- Is he lucky, or is he lucky?
- And listen, and he did not say anything, but hey.
Hey, you need to do a seminar, Pastor.
- Hey.
(laughing) - Well, so long have you been singing together like this?
- Since '98.
- Since 1998.
And all of a sudden, how long have you been married?
- We've been married 27 years in December.
- Well, congratulations.
So one day it hit you, or hit the pastor here, or who's the pastor of the church?
- He's the actual pastor.
- He's the actual pastor, that's kinda complicated.
We don't have enough time to go ahead and dissect that.
- I'm co-pastor, he's the pastor.
- But he's the actual pastor.
- He is the actual pastor.
- And we have another assistant, back at the church- - Come on over here, watch this, watch this, watch this.
What she said, you don't believe that, do you?

- Well, we're so glad to have you, and you sound wonderful, and we just wanna encourage you in the ministry, and we're glad to have you.
