We got a testimony that we want to hear about and we don't have a long time, but we definitely want to hear because something very special happened for you.
I know you got great ministry at Ruhama Baptist Church but something happened to you how long ago.
And tell me about the church.
- I was in the hospital being checked for blood clots, I had 'em, and the nurse come in and said, "Mr.
Easterwood, do you know "that you have cirrhosis of the liver?"
And I says, "Ma'am, you, you need to go out "and read the door because I, I don't, my name's Easterwood.
"I don't have cirrhosis."
"Yes, you do, and it's stage four."
So I seen the doctor (indistinct) there in town and I immediately went to UAB and I had, before I went up there, I had several occasions where the very varices in my neck would burst, and what was happening, my liver had so many toxins in it that it was backing up and had 18 varices at different times bust.
Hadn't been for Amy there, one night I would have not made it, and my wife.
But so the end, after that, I went to Birmingham, (indistinct) back up again.
I was on a vent, had as many blood clots, a hundred, over a hundred blood clots in my stomach.
- My goodness.
- Yeah.
Where it had bursted and didn't know it then.
And so I went on the vent and some of my preacher friends come by and they put healed and I claimed that healing.
- Yes sir.
- And the minute they told me I had it and I, so I go over to Birmingham, Dr.
Muhammad Shariva, my doctor up there, outstanding doctor.
And he said, "Tommy, it is time to get with the tips team" and have a procedure done to put a shunt in my liver and where the liver could operate properly.
And they did that twice.
And so then I kept on trusting in God.
It got down to, I had my TIPS team tell me I had four months to live.
- Okay.
- If I didn't have (indistinct).
- Right.
Lemme jump over to her.
- Okay.
- Now during all of this time, you knowing the medical process, tell me your thought process that you were telling the family, 'cause I'm sure they were asking, "Amy, what is this?"
Get the mic a little bit for me.
- Well, when he started having the bleeding esophageal varices, those are blood muscles in the esophagus and they can bulge and burst and that can be a death risk from the high level of bleeding.
So once we realized the gravity of his liver situation and stage four being one of the later end stages, we understood that we would be looking at a liver transplant if the tips procedure would reroute blood flow and ease that burden on the esophagus.
So we turned to the head physician and we began to pray and believe and trust.
And He surrounded us with a great medical team, a great faith and prayer team in our local pastors and friends and ministers.
And we just gave it to the Lord.
- Yeah.
I'm gonna ask this question since we've got the healing.
Is there a percentage of, what can I say?
Not making it.
What was the percentages of that stage four?
- Not knowing exactly those numbers with reference, but it is, you know, unless you get a transplant, we're looking at less than probably 50 to 25%.
- So did you get a transplant?
- No, I did not.
- He did not.
- He did not need a transplant.
- He did, at stage four.
- Which is not commonly reversible.
The things that happened with his liver, the scarring beginning to reverse, all the things there.
The improvement on the liver scans.
That's really not heard of, unless the good Lord (indistinct).
- Well we're not gonna, we're gonna let you wrap it up but I want you to look out there.
This man right here, Pastor Westerly?
- Easterly.
- Easterly, I'll put you in the West, Easterly.
(indistinct) (Tommy laughing) You are a living testimony of what can happen when you have faith.
- Lemme tell you this-- - Go right ahead.
- On the SMELD scores, my doctor already told me one of six coming through the bleeding, one person outta six.
And I was that one person and he told me that my SMELD score, the first one was a seven, I mean a 12.
And I was gonna look at a transplant.
15, you gotta have a transplant.
- Yes.
- So I just kept on praying.
I said, "Heal in Jesus' name."
- You kept saying heal.
- Heal, yes sir.
- You kept saying that.
- Yes, sir.
- Well, let me hear one more time, how you said it.
- I said, "I'm healed in Jesus' name, amen."
- Yeah.
- So when I went to the doctor, two more tests.
One was a seven, one was another seven, and a six at the end.
Anyway, God's completion of 777.
That's the number.
And so the last time my wife and I were there, I knew I'd been touched.
- You knew it.
- Yeah.
- No doubt.
- No doubt.
And I told, I told Katie, I said, "I'm not gonna have to have that transplant."
And the doctor come in.
He said, "We've got a miracle here."
- Wow.
- And he's a Muslim.
- Yeah.
- And I said, "Yes sir, my God can do that."
- Yes.
- And so he told me, he said, "Tommy," as Annie said, "your (indistinct) come back, no more fatty liver."
And he said, "It's all reversed, "you have no more fatty liver."
And he says all this (indistinct) stuff is coming back together.
He said, "You'll never have to have that transplant."
- Right.
Well look, since you stand on, I don't know if you know how to dance at all.
- I've had times.
