How are you sir?
- Brother, I am doing fine.
- And it is good to hear.
- Yes, sir.
- So glad to have you.
Are we calling a neighbor, calling a friend?
We're always doing that, aren't we?
So call a neighbor, call a friend and let her know that we are back again.
- Amen.
Amen.
- All right.
So where are you from, sir?
- Well, originally from Buffalo, New York.
- Buffalo.
- I always ask for please don't let it get me.
- Great change.
Aren't you up there with Rick James?
Rick James from Buffalo, you should know about him.
- Oh yes I do.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
I'm old enough to remember Brother James.
- Yeah.
Yeah.
But you didn't get in his band.
- Oh, no, no, nothing like that.
Alright.
- But you, where now?
Where you're living now?
- Oh, in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
- Chattanooga, Tennessee.
- Yes, sir.
Yes, sir.
- So you spend much time in Alabama?
- From time to time.
You know, I get calls saying, you know, throughout the whole Alabama and Georgia, Tennessee area.
And so I'm likely will be called anywhere for sure.
- Anywhere.
- Yes, sir.
- Okay.
So now you've got a radio voice.
You haven't done any radio, have you?
- No, sir, I have not.
- Okay.
Well, you can always use that as another career if you want to 'cause you got that voice.
- Yes.
That is what I'm thinking.
Thank you very much.
- All right.
So now you've been singing all your life?
- Oh no, no, not at all.
- Really?
- I've only been singing for about 15 years.
- Okay.
What made you decide to pick up that mic?
Let's look out that way so we're likened.
- Well, it's kind of funny.
After I retired- - Where did you retire from?
- Retired from EPB, the Power Board in Chattanooga.
- Okay.
So you were gonna cut my lights off at the time?
- Not me.
(both laughing) - All right.
- But I, as part of what I would do after, you know, with so much time on my hands, I had decided to attend some of the gospel scenes that were, you know, we called it the fast food circuit down there in Chattanooga.
And so I started attending those.
And I'd gotten an inkling that I might be able to sing a little bit.
- Wow.
- And so one thing kind of led to another, different artists would come in and I said, "Well, maybe just put together a set or something and see how that might go.
And I've been at it ever since.
- Well, I'm glad you decided to make that decision.
- Well, I am too and I'm blessed.
Anything that I had comes from God, His talent is my talent.
And, you know, so I'm just grateful, grateful to be here and God has blessed me in so many ways.
- That's awesome.
- Yes, sir.
- That's awesome.
Well, I wanna say to everybody, you see how Brother Marcellus is doing?
He waited a long time, but he finally came on through.
And I'm telling you, I'm so thankful that we did not miss that voice.
- Bless your heart.
- Yes, indeed.

- No.
