Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorshipforeign [Music] I've always loved filmmaking growing up you know in the in the mid to late 90s um the you know American indie film boom um it just really made me want to explore filmmaking snakes is a film dealing with the victories of the past while trying to cope with the traumas of the present to me patience is probably the main thing that I needed on set being a director is like being the conductor in an orchestra you are in control you're the one that that brings your vision to life but at the same time you would be nothing without the people that are around you I think that if I couldn't get Rey Bader who did the voice over for the film uh I definitely would want Brian Cox because I think he would play uh the elderly man perfectly Big Trouble in Little China love that movie I've probably seen that movie probably about oh my goodness probably well over a hundred times if I had to give my film a subtitle I would probably say the monsters will change captivating me from beginning to end and giving me a range of emotion a little over 20 years ago I met a Japanese director at the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival it gave me a really great piece of advice and that is to just make films you know if you have an idea just get out there and do it don't put limitations on yourself to where you can't have your vision show on the screen this project is supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts on the web at arts.gov and by oolite Arts what Miami is made of
