Dispute in Trenton could lead to 911 system being shut off

Current provider threatens shutoff over nonpayment of $200,000

In Trenton, city officials are sparring over how to pay for the city’s emergency radio and phone systems. The city council won’t authorize the payment of an outstanding bill of $200,000 to the current service provider. As a result, Trenton’s 911 system is at risk of being shut off at the end of the month. The bickering over what to do comes at a time when crime is on the rise in Trenton.
