ACROSS AMERICA EMPLOYERS ARE HAVING A DIFFICULT TIME FINDING WORKERS AND HAWAII, IN PARTICULAR, HAS BEEN DRASTICALLY AFFECTED BY THE LABOR SHORTAGE.
WHILE THE NATIONAL UNEMPLOYMENT RATE IS 6 PERCENT HERE IN HAWAII UNEMPLOYMENT HOVERS AROUND 9 PERCENT.
AS OF MAY 2021, NEARLY 80 PERCENT OF HAWAII FIRMS ARE STRUGGLING TO FIND CANDIDATES TO FILL THEIR OPEN POSITIONS.
85 PERCENT HAVE AT LEAST ONE OPENING, 65 PERCENT HAVE BETWEEN ONE AND TEN OPENINGS AND 30 PERCENT HAVE ELEVEN OR MORE OPENINGS.
ON SEPTEMBER 4TH FOUR FEDERALLY FUNDED PROGRAMS TO HELP THOSE WITHOUT JOBS EXPIRED AND TENS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE LOST BENEFITS.

SURE ENOUGH, MORE THAN 85% SAID THEY HAD WORKFORCE SHORTAGE.
RATE, SIZE OF BUSINESS AN DIFFERENT INDUSTRIES, AS WELL AS HIGH PAYING JOBS AS WELL, FAST FORWARD, PERCENTAGE DIDN'T COME DOWN SIGNIFICANTLY.
IT WAS JUST WAIVERING AROUND THAT PERCENTAGE LEVEL.
SO YOU CAN SEE IT'S STILL CHALLENGE AND NOW, WITH THESE NEW MANDATES.
