Papi and Liliana in one, me and my mom in the single.
Let's do it.
Papi: All right, here we go.
Heidi: Okay, how do I get in this?
India: We have never kayaked or paddled like this before.
Papi: All right, now one right.
- 'Kay, come on, guys.
We have no experience.
- Well, now we're spinning.
Papi: Just gonna do a quick circle.
Liliana: We're spinning, look at us, Mommy!
Papi: Woohoo!
- Sometimes I was just like, "Papi, just let it spin."
We'll get back around, just let it spin."
Here we go now.
Oh, too much.
- So that's what I did, I took orders from Liliana.
Liliana: This way, this way, this way.
More this way.
Papi: And it worked.
Liliana: Yeah.
Colin: As the Renterias find their rhythm, downriver, the Joneses struggle to get into the flow.
Samm: Babe, you have to let me know where you're going!
- Mom and Dad are really struggling right now.
Samm: Lightly.
Raymont: You're turning too fast!
- We were not listening to each other.
Raymont: Left, left, we gotta turn!
- He was doing one way, I was doing another way.
We were basically in a circle the whole time.
Raymont: Turn it around, turn around.
Samm: While Jada and Jade is down by the river.
- You guys, they're not that far!
[intense music] Papi: Keep goin'!
- We're catching up with them, that's actually really good.
Heidi: We're good, we're good, we're makin' it!
Papi: Here we go.
We're catchin' up, ladies.
- Guys, we cannot let them pass us, bro.
It's gonna be a footrace all over again.
This is not what we wanted.
Papi: Mommy, less yappin', more snappin'!
Come on!
- Use all your strength!
They're catching up!
Papi: We got this, girls, we got this!
India: Something just, like, I don't know, I got like a burst of adrenaline or something, I was like-- [yelling] Just gotta keep moving.
My arms were on fire.
Papi: Woowee!
We just passed the Jones.
They seem to be having a little bit of trouble back there.
- We should probably go back and help them, but we can't really turn around.
Jade: Come on, Mom and Dad, come on!
We saw the Renterias pass by.
That made it even more frustrating.
You guys have to really work together!
Raymont: The Renterias aren't stoppin' now!
Heidi: We are traveling down the Colorado River all together.
Papi and Liliana working as a team, Indi is in charge, and it is amazing.
- Hoo, I see it.
I keep touching something under the water.
Is it really that shallow?
Samm: Left, right.
Let's go, left, right.
We got this.
I thought I got it, and then somehow... - You're joking, am I on sand right now?
Raymont: Hey, we stuck on the sand!
Jade: I'm stuck on it, too!
- I'm stuck, too, Jade, what the heck?
Samm: [groans] It's like we are in the Bermuda Triangle.
- How deep is the water, 'cause I'm about to stand up and push this thing forward.
I look over and I see my mom at the boat.
I don't know how deep it's gonna get, Mom.
- Today's just not our day.
♪♪ - I'm actually really happy to be in the lead.
Heidi: Make sure you stop and look at how beautiful everything is!
India: Oh I'm, I'm seein' it.
It's beautiful.
Our goal was to really build those teamwork skills and to do everything together, and I think we've done a really good job with that.
- I hope that they're okay.
Jade: Okay, how 'bout this?
Dad, this is now your boat.
I go with Mom.
Samm: Jade's saying, "Raymont's gonna be by himself, I'm gonna be with Mom."
Jada: Push.
Go.
'Kay.
Raymont: All right, here we go.
Jade: I think it was meant to be that we got stuck on the sand in the middle.
Jada: Now row like you've never rowed in your life before, please!
Jade: Because if we didn't switch we definitely would not have made it.
Jada: We would still be out there.
Jade: We definitely would not have made it.
Jada: Now let's do this as a family.
Yes, girls!
Good job!
Jade: You got it, Mom.
You got it.
Just keep it going.
Heidi: Indi, what are we thinkin'?
- We're right on track.
Heidi: All right.
- It's been really great that my mom has stepped back and allowed me to kinda take this leadership role on.
Heidi: You're keepin' us at a fast pace.
India: It really means that she trusts me, and that really means everything to me.
Lookin' good!
Heidi: Indi, you're on fire!
Papi: Wait for us!
India: Oh, Papi and Liliana are so far.
Mom, you wanna rest your arms a little bit?
Heidi: Let's go!
Colin: While the Renterias rest, the tide seems to have finally turned for the Joneses.
- Guys, get a straight shot, straight shot.
Go.
Why are we here?
Raymont: We're here to win!
Jada: We're here for our families.
This is for us.
Samm: I got this!
Come on, Dad, look at me!
Jada: Guys, they're not that far ahead.
They're over there, just make a straight shot.
Heidi: Go!
India: Come on, you got it, you got it!
Woo woo!
Heidi: Nice and smooth!
Yes.
- Come on.
India: Come on, you got it!
We're here!
- Guys, we literally see them.
I think they just got off.
Liliana: Come on, we gotta run.
Let's go.
Heidi: Jacket, jacket, go, go, go!
Jada: Guys, this is it.
Final stretch, guys.
They're walking already.
India: There's Colin.
I see Colin!
Liliana: There's Colin!
- Come on, you're almost there!
Samm: Guys, Colin is at the end, let's go!
Papi: We got this, Mom.
Come on.
Go Liliana, go!
Liliana: [exhales] Colin: Come on, come on!
Jones family's not far behind you!
Jada: Come on, you got it!
- Let's go, let's go.
- Renteria family, you have made it to the finish line area first, but you are not done yet.
You gotta raise your flag up, let's see it!
Heidi: All right, get your shovels.
Papi: Gotta make sure it's deep enough.
- I can see the Joneses' boat comin' up the beach right there.
India: This has to go, like, in one.
Like, try this.
Heidi: No, no, no.
Colin: They're here at the finish line, but they seem to be struggling to get this final puzzle solved.
Heidi: Can you talk about our disaster putting up the flag pole?
- That's not where, this is all our pieces.
Heidi: What in the world-- Liliana: It was kind of embarrassing, like, we didn't know how to put up a flag.
India: How do we do it, how do we do it?
Colin: The Jones family is landing on the beach right now.
India: Guys, guys.
Jade: Come on, jog.
Come on, come on.
Raymont: Come on.
They haven't put the flag up yet, come on.
Colin: Come on, Joneses.
There's still time for you to win this.
India: That's not right, take it down.
Colin: Jones family, this race is not over.
Here's your flag, you still have a chance.
India: Now the next smallest piece.
Is that the next smallest?
Colin: This is so close.
Whoever can get their flag first wins $10,000!
India: Up!
Heidi: Okay.
India: Up!
Heidi: Papi, you ready?
India: Get it in!
Jada: Guys, we're still here, come on!
Papi: It's not gonna hold!
Jade: Dig!
Jada: No it's not, other side.
Papi: It's not gonna hold!
Samm: Very close, come on, come on, finish it!
Papi: Yeah!
All right.
Colin: Renteria family, you won Survivalists!
You have won Survivalists!
Heidi: Are you ready, Colin?
India: I'm so in shock.
I had no idea what was gonna happen.
I didn't think that we were gonna make it, but we did!
- Can we help?
- Come on, guys, we can help you.
Colin: Wow, they were together for so much of this race, but here they are, finishing kinda the way they started, working together.
- The kind of friendship that we have, it is just amazing.
Colin: Jones family flag is up, Jones family, you have finished Survivalists!
Congratulations!
Wow.
Jada: It was just, this race was so neck to neck, so I'm feeling very disappointed.
- You guys are here at the finish line.
Walk me through your emotions right now.
- I mean... today just did not start off good, and we didn't even know we were still in the fight till the end.
We didn't know how close we were, 'cause we ran, and by that time, we were-- [sobs] so exhausted, and we were so close.
Colin: So close.
- In a race, there will always be a winner, there will always be a loser.
Today's just not us, but there's so many things that we have accomplished as a family together, that is just amazing.
I know we struggled, but we did it!
Jade: I'm still proud of us, because we still made it to the end, we didn't just stop.
Jada: There were moments where I didn't even know my dad and mom could do the things that they did, you know, and Jade and I are very, very proud of them.
It really is about living your life to the fullest, and I wanted them to do that, and I think, I think they've done that the past three days.
- You just never know what you can do until you do it, and to do it as a team, it shows now what's the type of family I really have.
We can do anything together.
- And congratulations to you guys for everything you've accomplished out here.
- Thank you.
- Appreciate it.
- I wanna bring the Renteria family over here.
Heidi: Yeah!
Colin: The victors!
But you're at the finish line now, what does that feel like?
- It's overwhelming.
I'm glad we got to do this and work together as a team.
- India and Liliana blew my mind!
[laughter] - I really didn't know that I could do any of this stuff, but I actually did it.
- What does that feel like, to know that you've done those things?
- I feel like I'm dreaming, I really do.
Colin: [laughs] India, for you, talk to me about sort of the independence that you've kinda felt throughout this journey.
- This whole time, I kinda took on the leader role, and I'm so happy.
I really wanted to be the person that motivated everyone, and carried everyone to the finish line.
- We got to see a different personality in all of us.
- Oh, for sure.
Heidi: I loved handing over the reins to India.
She just led that pony, and we were just like a little buggy goin' [clicks tongue] - As promised!
[all cheering] Here's the $10,000, open that up, open that up!
[all cheering] Heidi: We are Survivalists.
- Yes, we are!
Liliana: This is probably like, the biggest thing we could ever do, and instead of just taking, like, little tiny steps, we went straight to the top, and we actually did it!
[all shouting] Colin: There it is, there it is!
[all shouting and cheering]
