This piano has a broken soundboard.
It's a famous piano among our congregation.
And wider than that, it is one of the most notable Steinways, certainly in the area.
But it needs to be repaired.
It's going to cost $65,000 to fix, and it has to go to Steinway itself.
We will be having a fundraiser.
We hope to see a lot of people enjoying it with us.
♪ Classical piano ♪ Philip Brunelle, who is a well-known organist and choir director in the Twin Cities, is coming up to Duluth to give a recital, and that's our big push At the same time, Phillip's wife, Carolyn Brunelle, is showing an exhibition of her paintings.
♪ Classical piano continues ♪ A piano like this feels alive.
It has personality, but playing on a piano with these problems on it, the sound doesn't live the way it should.
You hear the buzzing in the notes and you just think, Oh, if only everything were the way that it should be, it would just be so much more gratifying to play and to listen to.
