When they come in, we want to introduce them to firstly to our schools.
Hi, I'm Delaine Carlson.
I am Bette Grussendorf in the Hermantown Historical Society Center.
We've been here since 2008.
And we started off with the one room schoolhouses and then later went into two room schoolhouses.
These are one mile roads, and this is where the schools were located.
And this, this little school, Roosevelt, was burned to the 1918 fire at McKinley in the 1918 fire.
And then we're down to the Lincoln in 1918.
Fire.
This is.
The first, the beginning of our Hermantown school as one through nine.
They added an extra here to include ten, 11 and 12.
Who they had to go to Proctor for those years, and then they added on there.
This section over here kind of shows all the different sports that were in Hermantown, and we tried to have a jacket from the first, maybe the first class that sponsored the different sports.
I was very fortunate to work at the Hermantown schools, and when they were getting rid of things during the different transitions of new schools, the janitors would bring me items once in a while they thought would be destroyed, and I was able to treasure them and keep them and bring them here.
We have grown so quickly over the years, and we've gathered all this information we just like to share it.
