We've got about 35 people and we're drawn from across the Duluth community.
I think the letter from a Birmingham jail is a very excellent choice to center around because it captures with it a part of King that often gets overlooked.
We tend in society to like the nice part of King, which is important, but that is also a king that doesn't feel threatening to somebody who's comfortable with the way things are now as much as king in the way he is in this letter where he's very critical of, in this case, the letter for Birmingham Jail, those who take a stance of complacency.
I'm really honored to be a part of this great event with amazing people for my community, lifting the voice of Dr. King and and raising his awareness and how how amazing his words are still relevant today as they were back when they were spoken.
I think I just would encourage every family to take a pause and not just look at the I have a dream speech, but really get to know some of the other efforts that Dr. King stood behind and use those opportunities as a family to talk about where we are today versus where we were yesterday.
And what does the future look like?
