So we kind of have two different arms.
I did food insecure food pantry and services for seniors, and now we have a third arm, which is this community center space, which is what Maggie's has turned into.
I am executive director of Core Community Resources, which is a nonprofit that was founded in 2006 by a really wonderful philanthropist restaurateur named Mary Rice.
We are now standing in what was Mary's I think it was her first restaurant, Maggie's restaurant.
Mary passed away in December of 2020 and spent a lot of time talking about what she wants her legacy to be in Bayfield.
What we want to do with CORE, she had all sorts of wonderful philanthropic organizations she supported, but she I want to believe that core was near and dear to her heart.
I feel like we're bringing forth Mary's legacy, as well as doing good work for the community by creating a space that's just open for everyone to come in.
