Well.
Kind of.
I walked on a ferry.
Welcome to Bainbridge Island.
Welcome to Bainbridge Island, one of the state's first creative districts.
What is a creative district?
Let's find out.
Alright.
I've found the.. Meet Anne.
She's the lead of the Bainbridge Island Creative Dist.. Anne, what the heck is a creative district?
A creative district is a walkable boundary neighborhood where there are lots of creative activities within that area.
That designated geography.
For us, that's the ferry walking through Winslow and through our park and back to the ferry.
And it's full of galleries, museums, restaurants, wine tasting, theaters, almost anything you could think of, that is creative happens here.
Incredible.
Tell me a little bit about the First Fridays here.
Well, right in the heart of the creative district once a month, the galleries open up and serve wine and have music and food and, the public come and enjoy the art, the food, the wine and dance and just have fun all year round.
Lovely.
It it happens rain or shine.
Awesome.
Well, I ..
I'm going to finish my coffee from the *crow cawing* and go explore.
You can find art just about anywhere.
Told you.
That is the Bainbridge Island City Hall, and this is one of five public sculptures sprinkled throughout the Creative District.
Fun facts about these sculptures.
They're changed out every year.
They feature local artists, and they even have a QR code you can scan here and learn more.
And don't forget the performing arts center, music, theater, dance and look more art.
And there you have it, a walking loop of the Bainbridge Island Creati.. is just a ferry ride away.
But first, I think it's time for burgers and beer.
I'm Angela.
Thanks for exploring.
I'll see ya.
