Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship(peaceful music) - [Katie] Nan specializes in kind of the Northwood scenes.
She takes inspiration from everything around her.
I think this last year, she really concentrated on the horizon.
(peaceful music) My name is Katie Clark and I am the museum manager at the Cook County Historical Society.
And we're at the Johnson Heritage Post Art Gallery, and we're standing in the middle of a Nan Onkka woodblock print exhibit.
(peaceful music) When I look around everything is so familiar.
You know from Artist Point to the waves to the harbor.
Everything just pops right out at you and she just has a great eye at pulling the forms and the images together.
I would hope that people would take away, from the exhibits, an appreciation of the process, of woodblock printing and relief printing.
And I think she does a great job at it showing what goes into it.
