And here to tell us more about an upcoming community webinar series is State Director, Alan Ormsby.
Hi, Alan.
- Hi.
- Always great to have you on.
- Thank you.
It's a wonderful thing to be here.
- Great.
So why don't we talk first about the class you're offering.
It's virtual, which is great.
- [Alan] Yeah.
- So tell us first about the class.
- Yeah, we've got a couple of really exciting things happening with Social security.
Social security is so important for so many Utahans and understanding it and knowing everything that's happening.
It's really important.
So on May 7th, we're gonna do a virtual class.
We call it our "AARP Utah University Series".
And we try and educate people about a variety of different things.
We have three classes in the spring, three classes in the fall, and this one coming up is on Social security.
We'll have a guest from the Social Security Administration who will answer all of your questions.
- That is easy because sometimes I know it's hard for people to figure out where to go.
- Yeah.
- And who to ask.
Yeah, so that's great.
Okay, and then you've got the Social Security forum coming up the 22nd.
- Yeah, we're really excited about this.
So we typically do most of our classes virtually, but this forum is gonna be really fun.
It'll be in person and also have a virtual component for people who can't come in person.
But we'd love to have about 150 or so people right there in the classroom talking about this, discussing social security.
We're gonna have two great speakers, one from the University of Utah, one from BYU, both professors, and they're gonna talk about various options for keeping social security strong into the future.
So really exciting and fun.
We hope everyone will sign up for these classes.
- That's great.
And is there a cost involved?
- No.
- No, that's great.
- No cost at all.
You don't have to be an AARP member.
We'd love for you to be a member, but you don't have to be an AARP member to participate.
So just check that out and registration is required for both of these events.
- Okay, great.
Thank you, Alan, so much for what you do and for being here.
Thanks.
- Thank you.
- And if you'd like to know more about how you can find out all about Social Security, two events coming up, May 7th is the class that's virtual, May 22nd is the in-person, also virtual forum.
