Republican Representative Jason Amos of Louisville and the House majority whip filed House Bill 569.
It calls for adding rape and incest as exceptions to Kentucky's abortion bans up until 15 weeks of a woman's pregnancy.
It also includes language that would allow for an abortion if, quote, to physicians determined the unborn child has an abnormality that's incompatible with life outside the womb.
End.
In 2022, the Kentucky General Assembly passed a trigger law to prohibit most abortions once the US Supreme Court overturn Roe v Wade, which happened last June.
Lawmakers also passed a fetal heartbeat law banning abortion after a fetal heartbeat can be detected, which is about six weeks into a pregnancy.
House Bill 569, has yet to be assigned to a committee.
