The polls show Wu with a substantial lead.
Annissa Essaibi George has been scrapping and looking for ways that she can close the gap, get people to decide this is not a foregone conclusion what's going to happen on Tuesday.
Has anything happened in the last couple of days that you think could help Essaibi George's cause?
- A couple of things.
They kicked off their last week of the campaign with that debate Monday night, we heard a Essaibi George shift a little bit on her transportation platform.
Michelle Wu has, of course, been talking about the fare free bus pilot, the 28 bus.
And to be fair, Essaibi George did say back in April that she was open to the possibility of exploring more fare free buses.
But on Monday night we heard her in a very clear way, say that she is for expanding the fare free bus pilot.
- We've got some video of her conveying that enthusiasm.
Let's take a look.
- We certainly have to continue to invest in those fare free bus lines.
We've seen the success with the number 28, that's cost the city $30 million, and that pilot ends in just a couple of weeks.
