So you all know how best to prepare for enrollment.

And I'm here with Eryca Bowman from Legal Aid of the Blue Grass.

Eryca, thanks for taking a minute.

But as people begin to enroll, What did they struggle with the most and how can they prepare for enrollment?

Well, in my line of work, I see a lot of people struggling with knowing the difference between advantage plans and regular prescription plans.

Regular prescription plans are contracted by private insurance companies that are okayed by Medicare.

And those plans can be used in any hospital or any facility that accept Medicare.

Now, Advantage plans are also contracted by private insurance companies, but they are bound by network.

So people do kind of see that as a drawback, but they do tend to offer extra benefits, including vision, dental and things like that.

Now, to prepare for choosing your prescription drug plan during enrollment, I definitely recommend visiting medicare.gov and just checking out what plans are available in your area or speak to a SHIP counselor State Insurance Health Assistance Program.

Those counselors are able to answer any questions about Medicare and provide some Medicare guidance.
