This month’s deep freeze has left the city’s homeless residents in deadly peril.

Recent subzero temperatures and heavy snowfall have endangered the lives of people who are already incredibly vulnerable — the more than 5,000 Chicagoans estimated to be living on the streets or in shelters. What some advocates believe Chicago should be doing to protect the unhoused.
