Afghanistan, home to 38 million people, is running out of food and money. The White House is making it clear it wants to provide assistance directly to the Afghan people. Joining Christiane is Fawzia Koofi, a former Afghan politician who was part of the team negotiating with the Taliban, and -- from Kabul -- Mary-Ellen McGroarty, the World Food Programme's Director for Afghanistan.
