Listen, "Alabama Gospel Roots", and we're so honored right now to have with a missions pastor, and this is from the Eden West Side Baptist Church, Pastor Scotty Pinson, how you doing?
- I'm doing wonderful sir.
It's great to be here today.
- Great, now you guys are located in Pell City?
- Yes sir, we're just about three and a half miles from here.
- Okay, and so how long have you been a part of the Eden West Side Baptist?
- I've been there for about 21 years now.
- Wow.
- Yes sir.
- Wow, how long you been in the ministry?
- I've been serving as the missions pastor for the last 10 years there.
- Okay, but when were you called?
How many years ago were you called?
- Uh-huh, did you get deaf on it, or you went right ahead and heard something?
- I definitely ran, that's for certain.
- (laughing) Well, tell me a little bit of what you do with missions.
- Well, we have the wonderful opportunity doing missions all over the world, of course.
But we really focus a lot here in Pell City and around this region.
We do a lot of things for like our first responders, and our local schools, and local nursing homes and stuff.
And our widow ministry is really growing a lot, and our restoration ministry is huge as well, so we got a lot of great things happening.
- Well, tell me about the widows, 'cause that's one of the things that we are instructed to do, take care of the widows and the widowers.
- Yes sir, well we ended up with three of our key members of our church ended up widowed or widowers in the same year, and God birthed in their heart to do more.
And so they started a Hands that Embrace ministry, and they have a meeting every month, and they do stuff for the widows in the region here.
And their meetings every month are, they're quite large, have 50, 60 people come to them, and all of them are widows or widowers.
And so they really reach out to the community and do a lot for them, it's a growing ministry.
- That is awesome.
I think that's one of the areas we definitely need to make sure that we step it up in, which is for the widows, to let them know that they are not alone.
That's our responsibility, isn't it?
- Yes sir, that's exactly right.
- Okay, are you married?
- Yes sir, I've been married in 21 years as well.
Got four wonderful teenagers.
- Oh, four wonderful teenagers.
I hear you, I hear you, two girls- - Speak life, I've got three girls and then a boy.
- Uh-huh, where's the boy in the list?
- He is the baby.
- Oh, wow.
- He has three older sisters, he's got his hands full.
- He got to fight for his place, right?
- Absolutely right.
- Well, we pray that he can make it happen.
- Amen, yes sir.
- 'Cause I know the girls take care of business.
Okay, all right, well listen Pastor Pinson, we're so glad to have you with us, and your pastor's name is?
- Jackie Cannell, Brother Jackie.
- Brother Jackie, he called me and said, "I won't be able to make it.
I'd love to be there, got some things I need to do, but I'm sending an able-bodied man," and he sent you.
We're so thankful, and we look forward to having him on "Alabama Gospel Roots" in the future.
- Yes sir, that'd be great.
- All right, well we wish you well.
Keep on doing the great work that you're doing.
Keep on watching "Alabama Gospel Roots".
Now if you hadn't started, you need to start, every Saturday night, 8:00, you're gonna have to do better.
That's your mission right now, okay?
- Yes sir, thank you sir.
- Let's get ready right now on this great, great day to go to our main stage, where we've got another wonderful friend that you've seen before right here on "Alabama Gospel Roots", Mr. Tim Fulgham.

We're so pleased to be here with Mr. Rodney Burrow.
You got that mic up, Brother Rodney?
- I got the mic.
- All right, this is the gentleman who is the proprietor of Willow Tree Ranch.
Let's give him a big, big round of applause, (audience cheering) for allowing us to come, and to be a part of such a great day.
Listen, we got a long day, and we're gonna keep it moving, but we just want to thank everybody for coming out to be a part, and those of you who are watching by way of home throughout the state of Alabama and all outside of the state, we're just thankful that you would join us.
Thanks to all our sponsors, all the people who have helped us.
We thank the people at the Chamber of Commerce in Pell City, the city government, the county government, and so many other people that we will be announcing.
But Rodney, thank you for joining us.
Thank you for allowing us to be here at Willow Tree.
Tell us about a little bit of the background of Willow Tree.
- Oh wow, it's a long story.
I don't think we have enough time for that, but you know I started probably about 11 years ago, and you know, Willow Tree Ranch has kinda changed the vision that that I thought what God wanted changed.
So Willow Tree Ranch exists for the family, it exists for the restoration of the family.
You know, our families are splintered today, so much division, so much coming against our family.
And so this place is designed to have a little bit for everybody, no matter how old you are, how young you are, so that the family can come out here and create memories and bonds that will last a lifetime.
So in a nutshell, that's kinda where we're at now.
It's gonna be a camp and it's gonna be a retreat center.
We're gonna have an event center out here.
Eventually we'll have a worship center.
Actually we have a worship center here today.
(audience cheering) But, so that's, you know, kinda it, didn't expect this.
So, try to give you the short and skinny version.
- (chuckling) Well, we got the short and skinny.
A lot of things we don't expect in life but we get them, just because we know who was the giver of all these great gifts, is that right?
- Amen, I mean- - All right.
- One more thing.
- Uh-huh?
- To say this, when I came out here, sorry.
I told God that if He would give me this property I would give it back to Him.
So this is giving it back to Him.
(audience cheering) It's not for me.
I'm just a steward of a gift that He gave me, that everybody should be able to enjoy.
- All right, come on bless him, one more time.
Put your hands together.
(audience cheering) Ah, take a look at that.
- I see that, yeah.
- Take a look at that.
- Yes.
- Well today, since you don't know all the things that go along with things, this of course is our official flyer, and this is a plaque that we want to present to you, that commemorates your obedience, commemorates the faithfulness of the one that we look to as the author and the finisher.
And we want you to forever be able to glance upon this, Rodney Burrow, when you are challenged with greater things to do, you'll know that as part of this vision, Charlie Beavers and I were in Huntsville, Alabama, and we were charged with doing something called Lovestock, and you had already been charged to do with Ranch Fest, and the two visions merged together.
And today we want to read, it says, "In Obedience to our Father, thank you Brother Rodney Burrow."
- Thank you George, and thank you everybody that participated and has helped, and all the volunteers and all the prayer support, the churches that have provided the intercession for this event.
Just thank you, thank you very, very much.
- Brother Rodney Burrow, one more time, put your hands together to thank him for his obedience.
All right, let's keep it moving.
All you prayer warriors, keep on praying that we could just have this little pocket right here.
We got some baptism that's gonna take place, and all the parents, when you take your children over to to the bouncing houses, stay with your children, okay?
Just stay with your children.
All right, we ready?
Let's get ready now, we're gonna go to Tuskegee, Alabama, and bring to you somebody who's been on "Alabama Gospel Roots" before several times.
