- Hey.
- [Ken] Can you tell us a little origin story of the music and you guys coming together?
- [Alex] It all started when I used to sneak outta the house to see his old band play when I was in high school.
(Andy laughs) But really, no, we started playing together around 2008, 2009.
I needed a drummer and I had known Andy for years around the Santa Fe music scene.
- Well, that was when you had the really long hair.
You'd be on the cover of every magazine - Local magazine.
- Every local magazine.
- I was Santa famous.
- [Andy] Santa famous.
- I had hair about as long as Justin And then we met.
Justin was playing in a band called Nosotros.
I was a punk kid.
They would let me come sit in with them.
- [Justin] Yeah.
- They would let the blues guy come sit in with the Latin band.
- Yeah.
- [Alex] But we all knew each other in the music scene for a while, and it just organically happened I guess - Yeah.
- That's the best way for it to happen, right?
- Absolutely.
My heart went cold And I lost my friendly hand Everywhere I went My heart was twisted And turning around Upside down now Still don't know where I'll land But I guess I will know When I get there - Little origin story about the blues, how you got into it.
- Ooh.
(chuckles) - I'd like to hear this.
- I'd like to hear this.
Gosh.
So when I was a kid, my dad would drive me to elementary school.
And I remember driving in his pickup truck, and he had a cassette tape of Chuck Berry and I grew up listening to Chuck Berry Shortly after that, "La Bamba" came out and "Back to the Future" came out So all the cool guys in the movies were playing guitars.
It just kind of steamrolled from there and I learned where the early rock and roll came from was the blues.
(steely blues music) When I hit about 11, my aunt took me to see BB King, and we had front row center.
BB King shook like...
He was greeting the crowd towards the end of the show and he shook my hand.
I mean, I was like 11 years old, and so he destroyed me.
- Just like that was it.
Tell me, tell me baby What do you think this is?
- [Alex] The music spoke to me, that early rock and roll that was very bluesy.
And then when I heard BB King and Stevie Ray Vaughan, eventually it just got me by the gut I will be your mister I will be your mister I will be your mister If you'll be my miss This is it - Can't wait for everybody around the country to see this episode.
- Yeah.
- Us too.
- We're excited.
- Thank you.
- Bravo.
- Thanks.
Thank you.
(crowd cheers) (upbeat rhythmic music) In his eyes, in his eyes He's running wild Through the night Just going on Going on to the sea A sea of broken dreams They crept up to take him back, yeah To the place he called home But didn't know Love is what we are made for We're made for Love is what we are made for We're made for Yeah Now all alone In this village built from the stone of his heart He fights the fears of his eyes Now he knows Now he knows Where to call home And to make it back Crawl, fight and scratch Until his fingernails turn black Love is what we are made for We're made for Love is what we are made for We're made for Love is what we are made for We're made for Love is what we are made for We're made for Made for, made I used to have big dreams I used to have big dreams And then you were them You were them I used to have big dreams I used to have big dreams And then you were them You were them Love is what we are made for We're made for Made for, made for (crowd applauds) - Thank you very much.

Felix had a band a while back about 20 something years ago and I - - [Felix] 20 odd.
- I showed up, it was at a party and I had my keyboard.
I said, "Hey, you guys gotta let me play.
We did, we jammed, rocked the house It was awesome And then at the end, Felix said, "You're in."
(Felix chuckles) After a couple years, I got an accordion We started getting more gigs with the accordion than we did with the keyboard.
So we were like, "I think we got something here."
And that's how it started.
- [Justin] I might be the newest member of the band, but it's been a couple years maybe - Yeah.
- [Justin] We just started working together.
- [Felix] We just started rockin - [Justin] Yeah, just in New Mexico pretty much.
We started playing together, and it's been fun.
- [D.B.]
When you get up to our level you can use the best around town and he's one of the best.
- Aw, thank you guys.
- [Ricardo] Well, Felix needed a drummer for that stretch of gigs in the West Coast a few years back.
- [Felix] That's right.
- [Ricardo] That was pretty much when I joined the band.
Kind of just got thrown in the fire - Yeah.
- It was good though.
Been burning ever since.
- Right.
