Born into a mixed-race family, Alexis never felt like she belonged. Her younger brother and sister were adopted out of foster care, leaving her with little family connection at 13. Despite that, Alexis continues to push herself to succeed academically. Today, she is working towards two Associate of Arts degrees from Los Angeles Valley College.
